YOU NEED TO TRY THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN WINGS IN THE WORLD FROM THE OLDEST RESTAURANT IN CHICAGO!!! . The taste will indeed knock you “upside ya’ head” 🤭😋 . Daley’s Restaurant in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the Southside of Chicago, is a daily southern food and brunch favorite! . Founded by John Daley, an Irish Immigrant Ironworker in 1892, you can’t be in The Chi and not eat at this 132-year-old institution at least once. And even though Daley’s moved from their original location to directly across the street to a much bigger space in 2019, the friendly faces, welcoming atmosphere, and great food are the same. . Chicago’s oldest restaurant continues to serve the community with great diner-style dishes, as well as soul food brunch classics - like their fried chicken meal. Coated and seasoned with a house-made mix; the wings come with 7 pieces, your choice of eggs, one side, and either toast, biscuits or two slices of buttered Texas toast for $19 ‼️🤑 . Stop in soon! . #soulfood #chicago #soulfoodchicago #chicagosoulfood #foodchicago #daleysrestaurant #daleysrestaurantchicago #chicagofood #blackfoodies #chicagosoul #chicagosoulfood #chicagodiner #brunchchicago #chicagobrunch #southsidechicago #happybirthdaychicago #chicagobirthday

So my brother in law to my 91yo mom, myself and my 2 sisters out for brunch and it was delicious! He ordered Chicken and waffles, one sister ordered chicken and pancakes, mom ordered eggs, hash browns and catfish, my other sister ordered shrimp and grits with biscuits and I had the wing meal with scrambled eggs with pepper jack cheese and grits with cheddar cheese and wheat toast and coffee with hazelnut cream. EVERYTHING I ORDERED was perfection? Everyone completely and thoroughly enjoyed their food. Our server TANGIE was absolutely the best! She was attentive, accommodating and her recommendations were spot on…those chicken wings are REPEAT worthy. They were seasoned to perfection, crispy, crunchy, juicy and they looked so good they were almost too beautiful to eat…but of course we annihilated them! Actually we all had left overs, plenty! A special shout out to Brian who helped bring the food out. A very nice fella and ALL the staff from entry to exit were professional and personable. I highly recommend this spot on the south side of Chicago.

Daley's is a Chicago staple and though I've lived here my entire life, never been inside. We truck in for breakfast one morning and it was definitely a welcomed blast to the past. Set up like an original diner with low booths, a cashier at the door, and full kitchen in the back with a stooped counter. I immediately felt like I was going to be fed well. Like my Grandmother was somewhere in the kitchen and she was gonna to make sure I left stuffed. 😊 I was right. The staff were a team of mature women who seemed like they've been doing their jobs forever. They moved swiftly, smooth, and purposefully. Just like a Mom and Grandmom. The food came out quick, hot, and delicious. The salmon croquettes...melt my heart. My honey likes the HUGE in-house made Turkey Sausage patties on Texas toast with eggs. It's all so yummy. We left a tip and paid at the front door. The cashier is a friendly older woman to tells you to seat yourself when you walk in and to be blessed when you walk out. We've been back 3 times since our first experience 2 months ago.

Possible health code violation. Due to Food safety concerns and poor Customer service I do not recommend this place. Especially, especially since Covid Restaurants ARE NOT supposed to take back food that has left the premises. Even Starbucks won’t take back coffee. But this place, after giving me the wrong food and receiving my call asking what happened, actually threatened not to refund my $46 if I didn’t return the food within 24 hours. The fact the manager required the food they gave me to be returned within 24 hours leaves me no doubt of their intention to service that food to another customer. That’s why my refund was contingent upon that factor even though their employee made the error. Prime example of why many of speak of poor customer service when attempting to patronize businesses in our neighborhood. I Picked up food for my mom only and after driving to far south side I learned was given the wrong food. I called them immediately and was told that they were awaiting my call. The first lady I spoke with was very nice and said can you come back today I explained I could not because I have appointments in the far south suburbs and wouldn’t know when I’d be able to come back but I told her I could come tomorrow. The young lady who actually waited on me then gets on the phone continues to tell me how it’s my fault that I grabbed the wrong bag. I explain to her that that’s the bag that she pushed forward it’s the only reason I grabbed it. I knew there had to be some sort of reason that she was attempting to blame me and not apologetic even though this was not what I expected to be able to feed my mother. She puts me on hold for a long amount of time only to come back and say that the manager says I need to return everything within 24 hours if I want a refund Or credit. Realizing it is a Thursday and not Friday, I then realized Saturday is the soonest I could return due to my work schedule. However Despite my busy schedule, And the high price of gas I returned to 63rd St. to return the food there was no apology there was even laughter and they did not even acknowledge the inconvenience I was caused This will be the last time that I come here my mom called while I was at the counter and I told her the next time I guess I’ll be getting your food from original house of pancakes to which the very ignorant waitresses busted out in laughter. Never again and I’m also letting everyone I’m referred this restaurant to know about the poor level of customer service that is show to Patron. If I could have returned the food on Saturday they could have kept my $45 because I would have gotten my meal replaced. Thank God I didn’t. Who knows where that food would have originated from like the salmon croquets, eggs and grits and biscuits I...

Their new location directly across the street from where they used to be is nice looking at least.Unfortunately, the customer service especially nowadays at their new location across the street now is the infinite opposite of the exterior and interior of this restaurant. When i finally came in this new location today,I was not greeted with a warm welcome at all.None of the multiple female especially and male employees said Hello or How you doing, never mind a genuine smile on their faces to be genuinely grateful for the fact that I came an extremely long way from the North Side to eat there today.I went to the male restroom and inexcusably it was not clean like it was supposed to be.I like the stainless steel interior in there though, but it was also a dark and dingy looking atmosphere in there too though. The lighting in there is suspiciously dim for a restroom ladies and gentlemen. After witnessing that madness,I went to get myself a seat of my choice. This clearly older than me,but stank attitude female employee said "I have to wait to be seated".I told her respectfully that when they was across the street, they let you pick wherever you wanted to sit at.She said that's no longer the case at their new location.I also encountered a stank attitude male employee that was also older than me, talking about "sit down" aka get out of his way after wiping off some dirty tables.I gave him a respectful hand gesture for him to come pass me to go where he was trying to go,like a patient driver allowing a selfish driver to go first in congested traffic. After finally sitting at a table i wanted to sit at for about 10 minutes in a halfway empty restaurant, the stank attitude female employee extremely shockingly decided to become my waitress.I said "HELL NAW" to myself passionately, but low key though. She brought me a menu with a strawberry or raspberry finger print at the bottom of it.Very shortly after looking at the menu for a few minutes, she was like rushing me to order something, talking about "what do you want"?.Shortly after that,I decided to leave without buying anything.I told her "I'm Bouncing".She was looking at me and questioned me like she didn't get the hint.I stopped talking with my mouth and started talking with my feet. Now she knows what "I'm Bouncing" means, because they will never see me again ever.It was more than enough other female employees that could've became my waitress.I was hoping that my one and only favorite female waitress was there when they was across the street years ago,but from the looks of things she clearly doesn't work...

It does not cost to provide good customer service! Three of us entered this restaurant for the 1st time. We were not greeted and it took several minutes before someone told us we could sit anywhere. We sat and sat, at a table that was not properly wiped, for some time before our waitress, Patricia (Pat) came over. We ordered drinks and it took over 15 mins before we got them. We waited just as long to order our food. We finally placed our orders and waited over 30 mins for our food to arrive. 3 police officers came in 30 mins after us and received their food 1st. Another customer who sat just as patiently as us, ordered after us as well and he received his food before us. As she was giving the officers their food she tells us, because one of us ordered catfish, it was taking longer. Catfish doesn’t take long to fry, so come again lady. She finally brought our food out about 10 minutes after the officers received their food. She handed me the 3 pancakes, which I ordered, but rudely told me she gave me the wrong pancakes. When I ordered my pancakes, I asked how many came with the ordered. She told me 3. However, when she gave me the pancakes she tried to tell me, I only ordered 2. She literally wanted to go back and forth with me about pancakes that I specifically asked about. She tried to tell my sister her order didn’t come with pancakes, but the menu said otherwise. Then, she told my friend, she might get charged extra for her strawberries on her strawberry oatmeal. She never came back to the table to check on us, refill our coffee or water, or to see if we needed anything extra. Her service was absolutely horrible. The food was good, could have been warmer but maybe it sat in the back while she served everyone prior to us. Customer service is a marketing tool for businesses as well as a revenue booster. Poor customer service leads...
