Yet another hole in the wall spot that does chicken wrong. The heat on the cooking oil is routinely set too high obviously as the wings you get are scalding hot. If you attempt to wait for the wings to cool down this excessive heat will cause the breading on the chicken wings themselves to harden creating a horrible eating experience. Then they commit the Chicago mortal sin of placing wings on top of freshly cooked french fries. So your fries suffer from chicken grease crystallization and are inedible. Good food at a reasonable price. I love their steak phyllies, but this time I decided to get an Itallian beef. It was good, but not fye like it used to be. It's like they shrunk the bread or something. The fries were small as hell. From what I remember they used to "hook it up," but now this place is just mediocre. It wasn't worth the drive from my house. I haven't been there in over a year and the same people who used to loiter were still there. Smh. Some things never change, but apparently...

The area itself is seedy as hell. Folks yelling, folks begging, folk hustling. I was shifting where I stood and watching my back and front the whole time I was at the establishment. It's not necessarily a hole in the wall but it is a hood food spot. I used to eat here all the time when I stayed on Jeffery. Never had a bad meal outta there. Reasonably priced, plenty options, and the portions are worth the money. I'm just not a fan of the area itself. Be cautious when...
