Jerk 48 — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

I ordered from this place via Uber Eats. I ordered the whole chicken jerk alfredo with shrimp. Not only did I not get a single SPECK of shrimp which is billed at about $10 extra in addition to the almost $30 for the meal... but instead of noticeably whole chicken sliced and placed on top of the dish, I received a messy BLOB of what I believe was chicken on top of pasta.

I left an honest review on Uber Eats, and they simply responded with the words to be with the words "be blessed". A complete disregard for a customer's experience. That's SAD. Pathetic and cowardly. Not even anything that Even remotely RESEMBLED an apology for their mishap.

All that I can say is that if you want to be valued as a customer who is spending their money and choosing to spend it with a that values you... Trust me, respect yourself enough not to WASTE your money at this place....

Unprofessional isn't a strong enough word. Someone has to start speaking up about this stuff.

You can hire whomever you'd like to post "good" reviews but I have time today.

Also..., :), not only am I EXTREMELY blessed, but these people did not even slightly address the issue or offer any reconciliation. The only thing that they're unprofessional tacky business could do was respond with a condescending statement. SAD.

This is a sort of unprofessionalism that makes people think twice about supporting so-called black owned businesses. My blessings are plentiful.... Butttt what exactly would that have to do with an appropriate and professional response from a business with whom I spent my money?

Didn't even remotely address my remark in any relevant way. However, I wouldn't expect anything more than a condescending and irrelevant response from a company who would not know what else to say or do in a situation such as this.

Apparently, their only recourse was to say something completely vague and unassociated with an honest remark that I made on a HORRIBLE experience that I had with their food and business. I'm sorry Jerk 48, was I too honest? Lol. Deal with it.

SMH. Pathetic response. Hilarious almost. Pathetic meal which I'll once again state that I had to TOSS OUT and a pathetic marketing team... Apparently. Remaining professional is key. You don't value your customers or their feedback... And your condescending and irrelevant remark substantiates just that.

LONG REVIEW…….

If I could have left no stars I would have. I tried…… So I’m all about the support of black businesses……I thoroughly believe in supporting them so tonight I tried….. I went to a popular business for jerk chicken and cabbage. I hear so many great reports about them so I trusted them…..EPIC FAIL!!!! First the cashier didn’t realize a white dinner included BREAST??? I looked past that cause I think she was a teenager. So I place my order and usual wait 20-25min, thats cool, and I requested no gravy on the rice. I run to Walmart pick up a few items and come right back, luckily I checked my food before I left, I’ve been to SEVERAL Caribbean restaurants and have NEVER been told the rice and peas are made from stewed beans???? The cook came out and explained how they made it and I took his word for it ,the flavor was ok, the cabbage was amazing, but this partially done chicken…..NO!!! The pieces I could eat were great, very flavorful, seasoned very well but it wasn’t done!!! MY CHICKEN SHOULD NOT STILL BE PINK AND RUBBERY!!!!! That means, ITS NOT DONE!!!! I shouldn’t have paid $20+dollars to have to finish cooking it and now be sick!!! I’ve heard rave reviews about their other establishment so when they opened another on 95th I figured this was a good thing…..NOPE!!! I tried them…. Epic fail and tonight….a total waste of money!!!! A friend of mines knows one of the owners and last night was expecting a call to discuss what happened, at the very least today but nothing. I guess they really don’t care about the satisfaction of their customers cause I definitely didn’t want nothing else...

After long overdue and all the hype off some Man my husband watches(YouTube). We finally made it to Chicago for Jerk48. They had just open at 1030am and we arrived before 11am. We are OTR Truckers and wanted to finally try them, we arrived to be told Dinners (chicken and sides) will be another hour wait. So we ordered the Chicken&ShrimpAlfredoJerkPasta JerkSalmonPhilly with fries JerkPhillyEggRolls No juices/punches/lemonade available. Total was $73. Waited 20-30 minutes for meal. Upon tasting everything, we were disappointed due to lack of flavors, felt it could have been seasoned better, tasted bland. JerkSalmonPhilly tastes like a lukewarm pizza IDK but that’s what I tasted. Husband had the JerkPasta and he was disappointed, stating no flavor but it’s Jerk’d up but no really flavor or seasoning. Eggsrolls tasted like a stuffed GroundTurkey roll no true authentic taste. I do agree with other Reviewers about the side Jerk sauce, it has a kick. Which I weird, cuz if you taste the jerk sauce it’s OFF how they didn’t conquer the seasoning of food. Young Lady who took our order was patient and nice. Awesome. Thank you Hunn.
