We had an amazing experience at Nitro Nostalgia! The owner was incredibly accommodating, and the staff was super friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The decor is vibrant and fun, featuring fantastic artwork that adds to the atmosphere. The seating area is a nice touch, with classic board games to enjoy while waiting for your ice cream. Watching the ice cream being made with nitrogen was a unique and entertaining experience! What really stood out was the owner's commitment to investing in the Bronzeville neighborhood—it’s clear they care about the community. They also hosted my daughter’s birthday party, going above and beyond to make it special by letting her get behind the scenes to make her own ice cream. We highly recommend Nitro Nostalgia and can’t wait to come back!

It was nice trying this place out with the hubby! The owner was nice and insightful on what products to try and if we wanted vegan, dairy or sorbet. The place was super cute and I took a lot of great pics! The games we played while waiting was fun! The only thing I would have to comment on is the wait as we waited a while before we got our icecream but was occupied by the games and conversations:) Also our icecreams were good however we did ask for whip cream but didn't receive it not a big deal but still we request when asked. We tried the twist and shout with lemon and strawberry and coconut pineapple both really good! I would return but try other flavors as overall it is a good vibe and staff seemed friendly. Oh we also had the empanadas spinach/ricotta & tanga chicken both good!

I've been to Nitro Nostalgia a number of times and each time I've tried something new on their menu. The atmosphere is cozy and staff are very pleasant. Watching the process of them making the ice cream is fun to watch also. They have various games, music, and movies streaming. The empanadas are delicious and filled with a lot inside. My favorite ice cream so far has been boozy lemon sorbet (not pictured). This place is great for family outings and friendly gatherings. I could see it being a cute date night spot too. The best part is that it's right in the neighborhood so I can get there within a few minutes. They have events often which support other local black owned businesses so it's been a win-win each time I've come.

On 3/16, I was sooo excited to visit the new ice cream parlor and buy ice cream in any flavor made vegan! However, the experience fell short of anything nostalgic. Upon entering the shop, someone was making ice cream for a party as I walked to the register to view the menu list and I was not greeted. Another woman appears from the back kitchen helping set up and says hello as she continues fidgeting with kitchen items. After about 7 minutes of waiting, the woman from the kitchen reappears to finally take my order as she smiles brightly waiting to take my order. I then order A PINT chocolate ice cream (vegan) mixed with oreos and pecans. I thought I would FAINT, when the smiley woman said $24.59 please!!! say whaaaaat? I'm wondering if I entered a carnival portal at this point. LOL! Then to make matters worse, the smile woman has the nerve to tell me it will be 25 MINUTES to get my ice cream due to the current party. I almost fainted again...However, I waited and when I went back to retrieve my order, the smiley woman said the ingredients werent working and had to redo it...WTH??? I ended up waiting another 10 min or so..total 35-40 min...I finally taste the ice cream and it is a sour icy mess, which tells me they are at an entry level with ice cream making. not nostalgic at all! PLEAE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! I will be posting on their...

Happy to support a locally owned, black business but! I got the sweetest taboo and admittedly, it was entirely too sweet for me, I feel like the brown sugar wasn’t necessary. I will say the ice cream was super thick and creamy, so maybe if I go back I’ll try another option that isn’t too sweet. I tried the steak, beans and potato empanada, as well as the buffalo chicken empanada; I loved the steak but the buffalo chicken was dry on the inside. Also, the food didn’t come out at the same time, so that was a bit of a bummer. It might have been better to get the empanadas out first, then immediately followed by the ice cream. They also didn’t have water, besides bottled water. The lounge area was cute and cozy, I wish there were regular cards to play. Overall, I’m not mad I drove from Logan Square to try it out but I probably won’t go back unless I’m in the area. If the owner reads this review: I wish your business the best of luck! Hopefully your business becomes a...
