Just Turkey Grill — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

Placed a call in order for a large Turkey tip jerk dinner today, was told 15 minutes for pick up 6:57pm. Arrived at 7:17pm and paid for the food and was told to give it another 5 minutes. Waited outside cause it was unbelievably hot inside the restaurant with an industrial fan pointed in the air. Gave it ten minutes and walked back inside, noticed they have a sign that says they have a buy one get one half off special on Thursday’s for the large Turkey tip. I asked the cashier if I could pay the difference and get the second half priced Turkey tips and she said I had to purchase another 2 orders, I thought to myself then to ask for my money back but no big deal I understand. No mention of my food being ready. I go back outside standing in front of the window a second time and gave it another 10 minutes only to walk back inside and find out my food was not bagged and had been sitting in their warmer for who knows how long. I read a review that said the cook left out the back door and didn’t wash his hands upon re entry. This is true because he helped out a young lady to her car with a catering order and walked back into the kitchen without washing his hands. I also asked for my fries to be cooked hard and of course I had soggy fries, the meat is piled on the top of the fries and the tips were kind of dry. Usually good food but this time it was different. I do understand that the mask standard is no longer enforced but it did make me feel my food was being prepared with care (staff no longer where masks) Thursdays are the “tips” special so I was craving bbq, spaghetti and greens and of course why not get it from the usual spot. I did the BOGO 1/2off, so I got 2 large turkey tips, spaghetti and greens (I always request the fries be separated due to the sauce making them soggy and the restaurant sometimes does it.) My order was ready when I arrived and surprisingly it was correct, most times they forget something, but this time everything was perfect (that should have been my 1st clue.) My nephew and I shared the meal on Thursday and all was fine until Friday morning, I woke up dizzy, vomiting and other…….just feeling awful and my nephew complained of a stomach ache. I didn’t want to believe it was due to one of my fav places to eat, but I just read a review stating a customer saw the cook return inside without washing his hands. Is it possible some sort of cross contamination occurred and the food was contaminated, I spent $30 on that food and tossed the leftovers after becoming ill? This was the worst experience I ever had. I ordered over the phone at 4:00 and was told my order would be ready in about 30 to 40 minutes. I got there at 4: 45 and my food was not ready. I waited until 5:30 and my food was still not ready. At 5:45 I asked for my money back and was ready to leave. Now, all of a sudden my food was ready. I still waiting a few more minutes before my food was brought up. I got my food and left. I shortly discovered that two tacos were not in my bag. I went back and they gave me what I thought was the missing items. I left again. Something told me to pull over and check to make sure I had everything I ordered. Sure enough, an order of fries were missing. So, I return a second time to get the remainder of my order. At this point I am tired and frustrated. It is now after 6:00. Keep in mind that I placed a phone order at 4:00 and it is now after 6:00. The one saving grace in this whole ordeal was that I was given some of my money back. This was the most unprofessionally run business I have ever encountered. Others in the waiting area were also frustrated with the long waiting times. I like the food but the service is terrible.
