Sonic is good comfort food. It's best the closer you are to the city. But even here it's pretty good.
I like the burgers (ones with at least as many toppings as the default #1 anyway. Plainer is probably worse realistically speaking). They aren't my favorite. But many people don't like them at all. I guess it depends on how much emphasis your burger enjoyment comes from the meat specifically vs the melding of flavors and textures.
Anyway the chicken is the real star. Popcorn chicken, chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, chicken strip sandwiches. Can't really go wrong. They're all good. Though the chicken strip sandwiches are better than the larger ones imo.
They also have tons of drinks and shakes and all that. I used to love trying all the bright stuff as a kid. But as an adult I feel like I crave consistency more and always get the same soda. I feel like I'm missing out every time considering how expensive and customizable the drinks are. But that's on me, not them lol.
They do use way too much ice for how much they charge though. That is annoying. I always ask for no ice because even for fast food it's pretty excessive there.
The sides aren't really great. So I'd recommend just getting the base sandwich/whatever and whatever drinks, shakes, etc you may want.
I don't particularly like tator tots, but theirs are probably better than most you'll find. The fries arent terrible but they don't stand out really. Decent crisp outside to soft interior ratio/cut, but not much flavor or anything special.
I took a chance on the onion rings (many recommended it...) and fried cheesecake bites things (promoted at the time, years ago).
Both were awful and probably didn't not help contribute to anxiety with trying new things.
In Idabel if you want good onion rings I suggest quick check, though they posted run out. Most of the local bbq places are also good. Just don't trust onion rings to the chain restaurants in general has been my experience. (Jack in the box has surprisingly good onion rings. But they're not anywhere nearby. Just a...
Read moreThis Sonic drive-in is much like all the rest, it's hit or miss. I always try to use my Sonic app so there's less chance for my food to be wrong. (Which is not always the case). One of the last visits i was at Sonic, my fries came out cold and soggy, much like they wasn't even cooked. I thought they might've been playing a prank on me. I pushed the red button and asked, "could have some different fries, these suck!" And i couldn't help but laugh. (Note: i did not use my mean voice). I waited and waited and waited and finally gave up and left. But as customers in this new day and time, that seems to be the norm. But on the other hand, I hate wasting my hard earned money on someone who doesn't care about me...
Read moreWorked here several times and the last time was shift manager. The store manager's daughter broke into it and robbed it and she accused others of doing that. I quit because she was working me open to close 7 days a week but when my deposit was off by a penny she wrote me up. That was it for me and I walked out then in the middle of happy hour. Also was discriminated against by broken bow store manager when I worked there. She said " if I couldn't hear to take customer orders over the speaker stands she had no use for me and while she couldn't fire me she could make me quit by reducing my hours to 5 per week from 35. She also tried to keep my final paycheck but I ended...
