Bad pizza, customer service, and prices! I ordered here hoping to support a local business like the other bad reviews on here, and I got a completely burnt pizza that was not edible. I called and asked for a refund or a credit and was told I would be given a $50 gift card by the owner. I tried the next week to redeem that, and he said he did not have gift cards available yet so I kept continually checking back about every week. I even went in once in person to ask about it, and called many times. Today I finally decided to order something and go in and talk to the owner myself, he was rude and claimed that he has no record of any order from me, so I didn’t have any proof, and why should he give me free food, he was a younger guy and very rude, even saying this in front of other customers. I said do you think I’m just making all of this up, and he said well I have no proof of it, and I don’t remember any of that. We talked for quite a while about it, and he was very rude and implied that I was lying to him. He finally gave me the margarita pizza and salad that I ordered, I took it home, and it was almost as bad as the last pizza, almost inedible, early over cooked so much that there wasn’t even any sauce left on it, hardly any cheese, and the crust was so tough that I couldn’t eat it. I was surprised by the rude customer service from the owner and how bad the food was a...
Read morePlease note this review is based off a soft opening of the restaurant.
We ordered a Big Pine and Margherita pizza. Upon glance everything look like it would be fine, though the pizzas did seem small, especially for the price. Upon first taste it quickly became evident the crust had not been properly prepared / cooked, as it was very chewy. I've made a similar mistake making my own pizza at home, but I expect better when I am paying for it.
Another disappointment was the sauce, which was virtually non existent on the Big Alpine. The toppings were good, but without the rest of the pizza coming together, they could not save it. The experience left me feeling like eating the pizza was a chore to justify the money I spent. After I was done, it left me still wanting a real pizza and feeling like I greatly overpaid for what I would rate a $5 pizza in quality.
I would hope that the quality of the pizza goes up as they get more into their groove, though I probably won't be returning to find out unless they lower the prices.
Still I encourage you to try it yourself at some point, and support your local...
Read moreJust left this restaurant still hungry and disappointed. There weren’t enough servers to handle the “trivia crowd”, so our server was stressed and stretched too thin to be attentive. We were seated next to the food prep area and the manager kept yelling at one of the employees to go do one thing or another. The salad bar dressings were super watery and when I asked if there was more somewhere else that was a little thicker the server added a bunch of olive oil to it and gave me more which only further diluted the flavor. The bread twists are giant doughy chunks so be aware if you have braces, don’t expect to have the typical breadstick size. After over 45 minutes of waiting for our final food order of a calzone, we got stressed and asked for our calzone to go, and they cut it before putting it in the box so it leaked everywhere and made the box and the calzone soggy. This was a terrible experience after having looked forward to trying this place for so long.
edited to add that the calzone was so doughy my husband ended up throwing it away, so over $40 worth of food...
