Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in Idaho

Cold Stone Creamery located at 7546 W State Street in Boise is in dire need of training their staff to be more productive and improve their work ethic. I also would suggest that the parent company perform a quality control review of the products being made at this location as the ice cream is terrible. I walked into this establishment at 7:00 p.m. on a Tuesday. I noticed that there were four staff members just standing around talking to each other. Obviously they were not busy. I placed my order for ice cream in a waffle cone. I was promptly told by the employee that they were out of waffle cones. I offered that maybe they should work on making more. The cashier looked directly at me and responded, “we’re busy.” I looked around at the other three employees who were still standing around talking to each other and goofing off and then looked around the store to see not one customer. I smiled, and paid for my ice cream and left. The ice cream was terrible. I’ve never had ice cream that tasted so processed and artificial with its flavor. The ice cream immediately went into the garbage. Needless to say, I won’t be going back. After a disastrous experience at a different location, my spirits remained high on obtaining this one of a kind, beautiful to look at ice cream creation. So I drove all the way across town to this Cold Stone location. 10000% best decision I’ve made in a long time. I wish I came here in the first place! The staff was very friendly and took the time to make both my husband’s milkshake and my ice cream bowl turned out picture perfect.

As for the product itself, it was delicious. Cold Stone Creameries have some pretty awesome ice cream for a franchise. This truly tasted like eating Lucky Charms in ice cream form. The ice cream was a blend of LC Marshmallows and vanilla flavoring. It was very sugary, so if you’ve got an antsy sweet tooth, this is the cure! My husband enjoyed his milkshake. It tasted identical to my creation. It’s nothing mind blowing, but as someone who loves taking pics of food, and limited edition items, this was fantastic! It was almost a shame I had to eat it only because it nearly too pretty to do so.

I did an online order last night and ordered $30 worth of ice cream treats for my family. Picked up the order and got all the way home and realized a waffle bowl was missing. Called the store and spoke to a girl who said to come back and get the waffle bowl or they would refund my money. I drove all the way back to get the waffle bowl and a girl who walked in before me was also picking up an online order. They handed her the bag and she left. I stepped up to the counter and told them who I was and that I was here for the waffle bowl that was missing from my order. The girl just looked at me dumbfounded and said “I just gave it to her.” I was able to catch the girl who was also about to leave with an incorrect order. There was zero on their part to make anything right or compensate either of us for the mistakes. Not cool. I could understand if they were super busy, but there was literally nobody in the store at the time. Also, they had just mopped the back area around them, and there was a trail of soapy water to the ice cream freezer, where the to go orders are picked up. I almost slipped and fell.
