My best friend, fiancé and I had regularly gone to this restaurant every Wednesday for the since December of 2023. It was so amazing that it had become not just a staple of our week but morale boost we looked forward to with a filling, authentic, hard to find, great tasting bowl of ramen every week. It was even one of the deciding factors when we moved into the apartment complex right behind the restaurant. So you can imagine our dismay when we found out that they decided to change their whole menu to a bastardized version of American Chinese food and low quality teriyaki that you could find at any panda express, or happy teriyaki. We have decided that we will no longer be spending money at this location or possible any nara location as it is not worth the price in gas when we're we're also spending upwards of $75 dollars every week on this restaurant. The menu change is not just questionable but down right disrespectful to the culture they were trying to convey and because of that they have lost three faithful loving customers. In addition, the quality of service in the last month from the staff had gone down as quiet as few times we had to wait long periods of time for someone to be at the front counter to take our orders. Also the hygiene of the bathroom has fallen into disrepair lately with a sewage like smell wafting from their into the main dining area. If you wish to regain us as customers please address ALL listed issues above if not you have lost a consistent source of income from us. Thank you...
Read moreI've been here a fair amount the food is great, if you're doing take out go ahead but I have never had a more cringey experience IN MY LIFE. There is this fatter weeb with glasses about 6' and WILL. NOT. SHUT. UP. He was constantly acting like his life is an anime after he forgot to put boba in my tea and then squinted his eyes and threw a fit saying "AGH IM SUCH A BAKA!" I have never been so uncomfortable in my life.
This nerd also kept coming up to our table where me, my girlfriend and our female roommate were eating and kept trying to strike up conversations with us asking us if we knew if the anime convention was over yet. We all were having a decent time before this. We then started to talk about one of the only animes we actually like and he proceeded to leave his station to butt into our conversation and spoil the show we were watching. We said we were only on Episode 12 and to stop talking because he was spoiling the show (and at this point were getting on our nerves making the two ladies I was with uncomfortable" he the proceeds to say "Oh....show watchers...i didn't know you were those...." in a very nasally and judgemental tone. IF YOU WORK THERE UNDERSTAND THAT NOT ALL CUSTOMERS THERE ARE OBSESSED WITH THESE SHOWS AND KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. I have never had a more obnoxious and plainly rude...
Read moreTo start! I cannot say how excited I am that I get to do this ramen review! Nara Ramen off of State Street is AMAZING! My family is in town so I was able to order 4 different kinds. I had the Spicy Ramen which is the only ramen you can adjust the heat on. We have all had an experience where you ask for very spicy or something similar and it’s not spicy at all…. Let me tell you, I got the hottest level and it lit me up! I have a great spice tolerance but wow, I needed a glass of milk 😂 with that being said, it was still flavorful and so so good in a cold day. We also got the Tonkotsu which was rich and flavorful. The Spicy Tantanmen which was spicy and creamy, not too spicy but full of flavor. And the Spicy Beef which had the clearest broth and seemed the closest to a pho broth almost. Not our favorite but not every style can be perfect. I also got a Thai Tea which hit the spot! I have tried a majority of the ramen spots in the Treasure Valley and I feel confident saying this has been the best so far! I have not felt as though many of the others were even worth reviewing. Nara Ramen is worth a visit! 🍜 To those giving bad reviews. Try it twice and a different style before taking to...
