The Sunflower Bakery, Catering & Cafe — Restaurant in Idyllwild-Pine Cove

So I got an Instacart delivery for this restaurant all the way from Indio CA. I accepted the order and drove halway up highway 74 to find it closed because of an accident. I had to turn around and take the back way up banning to get to this restaurant. Because it took too long (over two hours!!) Instacart removed my order. Well now this owner is trying to destroy my livelihood. They're trying to get me banned off the app and destroy my reputation by giving me a one star rating. How entitled and ungrateful do you have to be to ruin a pregnant woman's job because of a road closure? These owners should be ashamed of themselves. Keep in mind I drove over two hours and used half a tank of gas plus wear and tear on my car for nothing except to have these owners selfishly get me banned for the APP SCREWING UP. I always like to visit a bakery wherever we travel. I purposely didn't get any breakfast rolls, thinking I will get some in the bakery. Well, i did get a giant, heavy cinnamon roll with a thick sugar frosting on top of it, and a cherry danish. Neither one looked good to me, but I decided to go ahead and buy them. Payed $10.00 for them. I was shocked at the price, but I thought, it is mountain price. They better be good for the price I paid. It was the worst purchase I have ever made in any bakery I have ever visited. The cinnamon roll was dry and tasteless, so was the Danish. Overrated, expensive, place I will never go back to that...

I ordered a cake from them for pickup and told them that the cake was for my mom’s birthday and she loved chocolate so if they could make a chocolatey fudgey rich cake that would be great. And boy did they deliver! The cake was phenomenal. Not only was it incredibly tasty it was absolutely gorgeous! We devoured this cake in a day and a half. My dad ate it for breakfast the next morning he loved it so much. We waited a few minutes for them to box it up when we went to pick it up and everyone working there was so friendly.
