Our party of 5 came in for lunch and were greeted by a friendly gentleman who seated us in a nice comfy booth. Our waitress was knowledgeable and super friendly!!! She explained the Daily Specials including homemade soups. We started with an order of Calamari and Fried Pickles! Delicious! Our main course included Gus' famous fish fry, Shaved Prime Rib sandwich, Southwest Chicken Flatbread, Gus' Burger and Cedar Plank Salmon! Our food arrived steaming hot and every bite was mouthwatering! Their homemade Clam Chowder is the best I've ever had! For dessert we shared the Chocolate Ganache Cake, Carrot Cake and fresh salted carmel gelato! Absolutley decadent! If you're looking for clean, friendly restaruant with the freshest food in town, then you must try Gus' Grille! I hear they have a new "Happy Hour" menu that inclues Bang Bang Shrimp, Greek Pork Skewers, Merkt's Cheese and Crackers and much more all for under $10 each! Gus’ Grille is fabulous EVERYTIME I dine with my family. From the welcoming staff that is so polite and caring when you arrive to the delicious entree with the beautiful presentation that it arrives to your table. The food is hot and freshly made to order. The atmosphere is enjoyable with pictures throughout the restaurant of the history of Knollwood and the surrounding area. My favorite photos are the owner’s (Dina) father (Gus) and uncle’s (Nick) original restaurant that was very successful for years in that exact same spot that my family visited since I was a kid. The menu has something for everyone including kids and the restaurant has specials each day that offer a large portion meal. I was looking for a restaurant near Fort Sheridan to have my father’s funeral lunch. I called several places in the area, but when I called Gus’s they were very helpful! They gave us choices as to what we could have for the lunch. They even made a beautiful menu for the lunch honoring my dad! The choices we had for our guests was cheeseburger, chicken sandwich and southwest chicken salad. Also included was soup and fries. We also had dessert choices including chocolate cake, cheesecake and apple blossom. The food was amazing! Everyone commented how good the food was. The restaurant is very cute inside and cozy!
