Extremely sad and frustrated with how me and my husband were treated on Saturday night 9/14/24.
I placed an order through Uber eats to pick up, something we do often since a lot of restaurants don’t have their own store front that you can order offline for. Remember I said I do this a lot, this will matter later.
We get to pick up the order and my husband goes inside, he comes back out frustrated with no food saying how the person is asking for an order number. Never have I ever been asked for an order number as a CUSTOMER picking up my order through Uber eats. As a driver, yes sure but ordering and picking up for myself, never.
Why did I have to prove to the person that the food I was there to pick up was mine. Even after showing my order on my phone, the email and the PDF receipt I got from Uber eats. Nowhere on any of those things was an order number. Not sure if this is Uber eats fault or the restaurants. But no one likes to be made out to feel like they’re trying to steal food, especially from a local restaurant.
I’m a very kind person, but I’m not stupid. I know this person was thinking we were trying to steal the order. I’m not sure who would do that for a $34 order but it was kind of absurd. At the end of the day, I get it and the counter worker did end up finally giving me my food I paid for after I had to plead with him that I ordered the food and just wanted to feed my kid and family and go home.
It’s unfortunate because the food was really good, it was our first time here and I could see ourselves going back, but we probably won’t. Not sure why you’d treat your customers that way but you should think...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to Luke's at Lake Bluff, I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy ambiance that greeted me, making it an ideal spot for a quick work lunch. The establishment doesn't aim for luxury or extravagance, but rather focuses on providing a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for diners seeking a brief respite during their busy day.
The menu at Luke's leans towards the typical fast food offerings, and while the food was okay, it didn't particularly stand out in terms of flavor or innovation. However, what it may lack in culinary excitement, it compensates for with efficiency and convenience, which is exactly what one looks for in a quick dining experience.
Service at Luke's was commendable, with staff members being both friendly and attentive. This aspect of dining here adds to the overall positive experience, making you feel genuinely welcomed.
In conclusion, if you're in search of a place that offers a cozy environment for a quick bite without the frills of fancy dining, Luke's at Lake Bluff is worth considering. While the food may not be groundbreaking, the combination of efficient service and a pleasant atmosphere makes for a...
Read moreIt was ok, I can't really say I'd recommend it because I probably won't order here again honestly.
The pizza was well cooked and not burned it undercooked with a saugey crust, so that's good! Unfortunately it was dry, definitely not enough sauce but maybe I just had a bad pizza? I don't want to order extra sauce to get a normal amount of sauce for a pizza. The wings were tender but a few were balckened but still edible. They gave like plastic containers for my wings (2 containers holding 6 wings each) so that was kind of interesting. There was VERY VERY little to no sauce in the containers so that was fairly disappointing. Also the "hot" wings were not really hot, but maybe that just might be me, so I can't hold that against them at all.
Overall (as is), not bad but when compared to others in the area it's not my first or second choice to be honest. Hoping I just had a bad experience because there's definitely a lot of potential!! A bit extra sauce for the pizza and more sauce with the wings and it will be...
