The atmosphere is very nice. White tablecloths give it some panache. As crowded as it was you can carry on a nice conversation so it seems intimate. The pricing is fair for the quantity served. The taste of our food was incredible. My wife had been here before and had the same dish. It is a pistachio breaded chicken in a pesto with a balsamic reduction. I have never experienced this dish in my 66 years. It was amazing how well the flavors mingled when you eat it. I would highly recommend it. Two large pieces over mashed potatoes. Yummy. Brought home half of it for today’s lunch. I had fettuccine carbonara. It was equally delicious. The cheese and chunks of pancetta mixed with the egg was so creamy and had such depth of flavor, bravo! Dessert was tiramisu. Delicate not too much coffee as I do not like that it can over power the dessert. Dusted the dessert and plate with cocoa powder. Very authentic and you could scrape up more cocoa powder with the tiramisu before devouring it. This is a great restaurant. Growing up with my Italian families cooking on my mom’s side I felt at home. We had a stuffed pepper appetizer that was spicy and stuffed with sausage. Beautifully done. The bread was awesome and loved that they put out herbed olive oil and cheese to scrape with the bread. Did not have to ask for either. The runner even asked if we wanted more, yes Please! We arrived at 5:40 and we're greeted by a pleasant waitress who took our drink order and then shortly after our food order. We were brought bread and our soup or salad, and drinks. Then we proceeded to wait an hour with no food. When asking when we could expect our food they told us another 20 minutes or so, we then said we had another event to be at for 7pm. We were informed that our food wouldn't be ready in enough time to get us there (5mins away). We then asked for our food to be boxed then so we could take it and be to our next obligation as quickly as possible and asked to speak to a manager. A woman, who I believe was the owner, came over and told us she couldn't do anything to discount our cost, that we should have told the waitress that we had to be out by a certain time. Because the 1.5 hours we had planned wasn't long enough for a dinner apparently. The food was made to order (what nicer venue doesn't make to order?). She put the blame on us as the customer, and did nothing to better our experience or make up for the inconvenience. She told us that she would comp our drinks the next time we came in. What about the ones we had already had? Because you think we will be back? 6 women who get together once a year in such a way...you think we want to waste our time to come back for "a free round of drinks"? Party of 6 on a Saturday at 7pm. Place 33% full at best. Appetizers and salads went fine. After that though everything went downhill. 5 of 6 meals served. Our 6th guest did not have their meal served for at least 20 minutes later-after everyone else had finished up. During that time our waitress disappeared and we had to go to bar tender to order drinks. Forget getting water refills at the table. When presented with the check I question an extra service charge of about 3%. The waitress explained that this is for using a credit card to pay the bill. It would be removed if we paid cash. What??? We then presented a coupon for a 10% discount. Waitress said they are no longer honoring those. That made no sense because we printed it out from their website that very day! At this point we shared our disappointments with the waitress. She got very offended and started laying into us for personally attacking her. Which was not the case. She returned and started crying and telling us about what a bad day she had and how understaffed they were. Now everybody feels sick about the dinner experience and just wants to get out. After giving my credit card to her the bill was returned with a automatic 18% tip that was not on the original bill! I can’t blame the staff for this fiasco of a night.
