I don't believe it deserves even one star. I got there about 20 after 2 on my way to work two cars in the drive thru One customer in the lobby so I went inside. The gentleman behind the counter was extremely rude and extremely slow. The Man that was ahead of me was young and I watched him pay for his food and get a receipt and then went and sat down. The man behind the counter hollered at him several times telling him he needed to pay so he came up to the counter lookinglvery confused andand going to pay again. I said no he's already paid show him the receipt and so he did. The Man behind the counter never said oh I'm sorry, excuse me or anything. I popordered a number 3 with fries and a sweet tea. He was moving very slow, then came back to the counter and looked at me like what are you still doing here? I said what about my order and he said, well what did you have. I told him and reminded him that I also had a half gallon of tea. He went to the back to get the tea and then asked again what I had. He hadn't even started putting the fries in to cook into cook and get the chicken ready he takes his time and goes back to the back room to get the tea and then asked me again what did you have. by that time I'd already been there for 15 minutes I told him forget the fries just give me a coleslathe asked for ranch dressing for dipping and he gives me one little packet. By the time I got out of there I had been there 20 minutes got in my car the chicken was cold I didn't really even want the coleslaw so what a waste it plus I was late for work because it took so long no I would not recommend going there. I grew up next door to Church's fried Chicken there on 23rd Street and it used to be a great place to eat...
Read moreThe Church's Chicken on North Oak Trafficway is my favorite... I travel the metropolitan area, on a weekly basis, and have reviewed several of these franchises.... This one is (by far) the best...
Pleasant staff, clean kitchen (unlike Prospect Avenue, which is covered in thick flour...), and consistent pricing...
Grandview/23rd Street Church's Chicken practice "sleight-of-hand" specials:, e.g. the ten pieces for 12.99, becomes 13.99, or few thighs, small legs, or missing pieces.......
North Oak Trafficway is on-the-ball, with: "Hey, glad you're here... if you want all thighs, I can totally, make that happen...!!!" Always a pleasant smile, never a missing piece, no "that special is over," or any other nonsense......
This franchise is out of my way; however, if I am dropping 19.97, three/four times, per week, for my three giant dogs, going to patronize a place, who recognized my voice, and (sometimes) includes a honey biscuit----just for me....!!!
Spend your money, where the restaurant owner doesn't think you're a pest, and seems happy to see you..... Good food service is a hard job; drive thru---twice as hard...... This little Church's Chicken deserves five (5)...
Read moreI give them I/2 star!!!!I have been for the last several months trying to give this store a chance since it is close to my residence. But I think I would rather go out of my way to get food that is edible and fresh. The food used to be delicious then several years ago new staff and the quality of the food would go from good to poor, in other words a pot luck. You didn't ever know what you'd get. But in the last few months the food is absolutely horrible!!! The store I am .referring to is located at10610 E. 23rd St, Independence, Mo. My daughter stopped for me to pick up dinner. The chicken was to salty. The chicken was dry and tasted like card board. The biscuit was stall, just awful!!!!!!!!!!! The slaw was tainted and unedible. I will never go to this store again. I will be surprised if this store continues to stay in business. I now this is a franchise, but aren't there standards set by the Church's brand to keep the brand successful? Aren't there checks of some kind to ensure the freshness of the product and that there is not tainted slaw that is being given...
