I've been waiting for my money to be refunded before writing this, but since it's been almost a month and no refund issued, here it goes anyway.
Since Sonic is notoriously slow at any location at any time of the day (Why not rename the chain SUBsonic??) but I genuinely LIKE the food I decided to try out ordering ahead from the App. I had tried it before just for drinks at a different location and it worked beautifully. (I'm usually fed up after my 15 minute wait when ordering in person but this way I can stay at work while my stuff is made and not waste half my lunch break in a stall or drive thru - brilliant!)
I work Sunday Brunch in South KC and it's hard to get through the morning routine, EAT and make it to work on time, so I usually skip the eating part. After the successful trial elsewhere, I thought I could order ahead and just breeze through to pick it up to eat on the way. HAHAHA.
I pulled into a stall and attempted to check in. The screen said that there was something wrong and to press the button to let them know I was there, so I did. No answer. I logged out and attempted to check in again, same result. Finally a young man did come out with my drink to inform me that he just arrived at work and that the manager had been there alone, thus none of the fryers or grills had been turned on. So it was going to be a while for my food. I told him I had ordered ahead for the specific reason that I could not wait and was on a time crunch and I would just like a refund please. He turned away without another word and walked back into the building.
As I have a 17 minute drive to work and was down to the wire, I did not wait around to see if he or a manager to come back. I did contact the company and they said a refund would be processed though that location, which didn't happen as far as I can tell by my bank.
I know that things happen but the fact that my food wasn't ready isn't my biggest complaint with this location. The fact that their management staff apparently thinks it is OK to show up to work and do nothing to be prepared for the business day is disappointing. I guess if her staff would have never showed up I suppose this location would have just closed up until someone making minimum wage showed up to turn a couple knobs and throw a few switches.

First of all they started shoving people out of the drive thru line before it was their actual closing time, they told us they were not doing and deliveries to the parking menus about 40 minutes before closing, they had turned of the lights around the place before it was 11, they combined my cars order and had to split everything when we got to the window, apparently that happened to our other party, my tots were only half way full, with none at the bottom of the bag, my chicken strip sandwich was missing a strip, my girlfriends rootbeer was just club soda, my other parties chili dog had onions even though he asked for no onions, and before we were able to check any of this, they closed and locked the window on us. We stopped for a second to move people around in our car and check our food, and before we could, the manager came out and told us he needed us out because company policy states they can't have any customers in the area after the lights were turned off for employee safety. That would of been fine and understandable to me, if it was for the fact that his employees were already outside fooling around in plain site. Being shooed away, we didn't discover the mistakes until we were further down the road. We honestly wanted to just turn around and get a complete refund on the whole thing, but of course they had already left and there was nothing we could do at that point. Now I've worked and managed food facilities before so I under the struggle and annoyance of the last minute rush, and believe me, I wish I could have just shoved some people away before our closing time, but I didn't, because that's rude to the customer and shows you care very little for your job. If that was something I experienced with some of my employees at my store, I would have sat each one of them down for retraining, and stayed until the place was properly closed for at least a couple weeks. Read moreFirst I am a GM another restaurant fast food I can say sometime things happen but if your employees are choosing to serve black tough obviously overcooked and held too long bacon and tater tots. It’s not that hard to drop a couple of fresh tater tots and if you overcook the bacon, I understand you cook it may be earlier in the day and you hold it four hours or an hour on the table, but bacon can last if you cook it correctly can last very long time and still look very nice and fresh but this was curled. You could tell it been sitting forever. The only reason it was eating is because my husband will eat a trashcan when he’s hungry and 10 bucks was always spent for the BLT. I can say the tomato looked mighty fresh. The lettuce was a little brown, but it was not something I would serve to a guest or even probably a homeless person that was starving. I just wouldn’t serve it to anyone. It was an edible to me. The toast was un toasted and color But felt I don’t know if it was super stale and they’re like oh it’s hard enough to pass his toast I don’t know come on a little like they raise minimum wage up over $13 if you’re making that kind of money and working in an establishment like this you should be ashamed of yourself just down and out right ashamed and if you were an employee of mine, you would be held accountable and you would no longer work for me if this happened a second time now we are suppose to tip hell no I asked for my tip I gave the employee back said when they work hard enough well the good thing about stores that are ran like this when you do get a GM that’s cares it’s easy to raise sales cause I see why sonic is about to go out of business I hadn’t eaten hear for over 3 years cause every location I stop I get gross food old or hard meat or over cooked reheated are we teaching this looks like that dogs bacon treats hard tougher...
