Daisy's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Independence

Omgoodness! This little drive-thru street-side joint serves up the best crispy ground beef stuffed deep-fried tacos in town! They serve a wide variety of delicious menu items to choose from, and they're all so good that they'll keep you coming back thru for more! The litteral size of the various meat, egg, cheese, and potato breakfast burritos will leave a grown man with an over distended belly and the need to let out a belt hole or two before heading on in to work; and they're big enough to keep you satisfied all day long. Which reminds me... They serve breakfast all day long and stay open for extended hours all day, 7 days a week, so you'll be able to enjoy your favorites most anytime. They make red and green pork tamales; beef, chicken, and cheese enchiladas, and they serve the more exotic meats upon request if that's your thing! I'm more of a Mexican rice snob... I'll judge a good Mexican restaurant by the flavor and consistency of their Mexican rice. I'll base my opinion on if the rice is moist, fluffy, and flavourful. Daisy serves one of the best. I can't even list all the foods they do well here. The prices are extremely reasonable as well. I'll drive all the way from Blue Springs just for deep-fried ground beef taco with a side of rice!...

2021- We tried Daisy's for lunch, I ordered the Burrito Loco which is HUMONGOUS, my husband ordered combo #1 which came with 3 tacos rice and beans. I could only give 4 stars due to my husband not being able to finish his Al pastor taco, the chicken was way over cooked and it was very greasy compared to the other two tacos. Otherwise, a pretty tasty place, don't think that I will get a craving for it any time soon though 🤷‍♀️.

Edit/Update 2024- I do indeed get cravings for that burrito loco. Its become such splurge/indulgence/necessity about once a month (ladies know) YUMM. Sometimes if you are lucky the chips are fresh and hot and to die for. Salsa is a bit watery but for me it still hits the spot. Wouldnt recommend the gauc, it needs a recipe refresher. Love this place, its fast and consitant, thank you for providing something drivethru besides tacobell...

Wow, I didn't have any of the problems other reviewers had. Bring a taco shop, I got 5 tacos, being street tacos thing I might need a snack after😲 I ate them all and I ate them sp fast you'd think think I was a madman, which, I kinda was at the time because they were that damn good. Everything fast but well put together. You'd expect street tacos to have few ingrediants buv they stuff those little double soft corn tortillas so full you best be prepared with a fork at the end. Yoi'll be needing it. They ven gave some lime slices and to this Texan boy that knows his tacos thet to do that at this pricepoint is astounding, that's class.and a comittiment...
