Absolutely the worst service & management possible!! This is coming from someone who doesn’t leave many reviews on Google - but it was THAT BAD. Our server came to use right away and got drink orders. We didn’t see her for another 20 minutes. She finally came back & we ordered. Husband ordered chicken & steak hibachi and I got sushi with noodles. The server left empty drinks throughout the entire meal - never once did anyone get a refill (asked twice). Salads came after all food was served. We also had a black hair in our food. When the server finally came back, we immediately told her there was a hair in our food. She just looked at me & turned around and walked away. We didn’t see her for another 10 minutes. Still at this point, no one had anything to drink. Next time we saw her, she had our check. Nothing was changed and no apology. My husband went up front to see if he could talk to anyone. He found a male who said he was a manager and spoke to him. He said “he would talk to the server”. We waited another 10 minutes before anyone came back. Finally a female came over to us and we showed her the hair. She looked at us like we placed it there. She argued with us about it. She then grabbed our check and walked away without saying anything else. A few minutes later our server came back and said that the manager was taking $10 off - when no one at the table wanted to eat their food. We also were charged $2 because I ordered a side without dinner - when I ordered 2 different sushi rolls. We were furious at this point especially since at no point anyone apologized at the very least. We just wanted to pay our check but removed the gratuity. The check was $55.08 without the tip. We crossed off tip & wrote the $55.08 total on the bill.We left a card & she ran it. As we are driving home - the charge on the card was $66.79. She included the tip even though we crossed it off. Read moreI took my family to the Independence location. Prior to arrival I made an online reservation for 6:30pm. This reservation was accepted via email. Upon our arrival, I was told that there would be a roughly 15 minute wait, as there were only 3 chefs on staff and an unexpected number of walk-ins had filled the tables. My response was "what is the point of a reservation?". No answer, of course. At this time, I stated that I had read the sign on the door that read "birthdays eat free, details inside". I told the hostess that we were there to celebrate my twin daughters' birthdays and asked her what the deal, in fact, was. She stated that she thought that with two birthdays I would stand to save $15 but would have to ask our server to be sure. Dinner was good, although the service was slow. I was sure to ask the server about the savings, and she confirmed that $15 was to be the savings for two birthdays. When the bill came, I saw nothing taken off. When I inquired, she sheepishly stated that it HAD been taken off, but quickly changed her story on that when I asked her to show me where. Without even looking at my bill, she told me that in order for me to get the savings-I would have to show PROOF THAT IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY. I stated very clearly-again-that it was my DAUGHTERS' birthdays, to which she replied that I would then need to show A COPY OF A BIRTH CERTIFICATE??!! WHAT?! So, to be clear, to save $8 and $9 respectively, I would have to be traveling with a copy of my children's birth certificates? What type of garbage is that?! I asked her to appeal to the manager for a pass, since we had traveled from Elyria in Lorain County and it would cost me more in gas to come back with this "proof" within 7 days just to prove that I am not taking Hibachi to the cleaners for $17 on a $150 bill. The manager on duty (Stephanie) was very rude. Ive never seen worse customer service in my life. I will never come to this restaurant again. I now got a response stating I am a horrible customer.
Horrible???? I was called a yelper numerous times by Stephanie because I wrote a review on yelp. I was also given an ultimatum that if I didnt do what was asked which was sit and wait quietly with the rest of the walk in customers even though I had a reservation I needed to leave. I was upset but I was completely compliant. Complaint enough to still wait! was also told I needed to delete my review if I wanted to be sat after already waiting an hour! I told her my review had nothing to do with the food or cooks and was based soley on her customer service ability which was unpleasant and I would not pretend it wasnt. She did not like that I put her name on here. She was rude to all 6 people in my party. She continued to flash her cell phone in mine and my husbands face and repeated delete this. "Your a yelper. You need to delete this!" There was never an apology or anything for screwing up our reservations. She said it happens all the time. She said she knows that all we want is to be served immediately and people call all the time faking reservations. Again, the customer service was horrible. Ive never been to a restaurant that called their customers names and told them they faked their reservation. weve had many hibachi experiences and all have been great. We wanted to try somewhere new.
