To say I was disappointed in my experience would be a gross understatement of my visit to the peach cobbler factory recently.
After having dinner at Aladdin's next door, our group decided to try out the peach cobbler factory for dessert as we have seen it many times since they first opened but never had the time to go in.
It was fairly busy when we arrived so it gave us time to look over the menu. I wanted to try out a variety so I opted for the dessert flight. This includes 4 samples between the cobbler and banana pudding menus. I opted to do all pudding and my wife decided on cobbler so we could sample some variety.
As I was placing my order, I was shown what the cup size for the samples would be. I will give them credit for being upfront on how little they plan to give you for the $18 cost. I decided to at least give it a try, hoping that the experience of the desserts would be worth the cost.
Bluntly, it is not.
I fundamentally understood that what I was getting was a two bite sample of the flavors I selected for $4.50 each per sample. Considering a full serving is 8 dollars, the value proposition on this is so upside down its baffling. I would estimate that a full serving at 8 dollars would contains at least two and a half (if not 3) of these sample cups based on what I saw other customers orders look like.
The cobbler experience my wife had was much the same from a value proposition and flavor standpoint. Nowhere near worth the expense for what you get.
To just straight up add insult to all of this, the "flavors" you get is just a joke. My expectations for what I was about to receive vs what I got was so disappointing that it's hard for me to articulate the level of disappointment I felt. I ordered 4 flavors, cherry, cheesecake, PB&J, and Oreo. What I got was a base vanilla pudding, that I am guessing they make in house (nothing bad about it, it was a fine banana pudding, but nothing noteworthy either) with a pitiful amount of "toppings"
For the Oreo pudding for example. I got basically most of the top of an Oreo cookie without the filling. The cherry was a generic tasting pie filling, the PB&J was a teaspoon of peanut butter (that was just stuck to the lid) and some generic tasting jelly.
I try and give restaurants and spots like the the benefit of the doubt but for the pricing they are charging vs the quality of the product you received, the math is just wrong.
The final nail for me was the service speed was atrocious. After placing our order and watching several others also place their orders, orders seem to come out a bit randomly. People that had placed their order well after us, got their orders before our party did. Which I would understand if those people were getting different items that had quicker prep but there didn't seem to be a direct correlation on what orders came out when. I just know everyone waiting in the restaurant were complaining about...
Read moreIf I could give this place a half of a star I would. When I first walked in I saw so many people walking in and saw very little people walking out that shouldâve been my first sign. I went to the peach cobbler factory had my order ready saw the menu in advanced and walked out with absolutely nothing. When I first walked in there were at least 45 people waiting in line while another 10 sat in a makeshift waiting area. There was no staff around to be found and as I asked other patrons in line how long have they been waiting they shared that they have been waiting almost 3 hours for some peach cobbler. I asked them was anyone working behind the counter because no one was taking any orders and they shared that the girl at the register was in the back helping because half of the staff called off today. I spoke to the Uber eat guys who were also waiting patiently they shared with me that they were waiting 2 1/2 hours for the online deliveries. At some point it started to look like a fire hazard with all of the people that were in the small establishment. I waited in line for 15 minutes saw no transaction no interaction and I decided to leave. This place has nothing systematically in place to handle a large crowd of customers. With that many people at their place of business every order should have been online. To make people wait, even though it is their choice itâs totally ridiculous. If you plan on visiting this establishment, make sure that your schedule is clear for the day you have nothing else to do cause you will be there all day, which is sad and not...
Read moreI thought there would have been more to the counter than just a few cookies in a display. It felt like there should have been more to see. Even the menu was a little hard to immediately look at since it was high and behind the counter. There wasnât anyone in there until after a few minutes he came from the back. I couldnât make up my mind and would have liked the guy to maybe ask me some questions or suggest something but he just stood there silent. I finally made up my mind and got the bourbon pecan banana pudding. The guy took my order then disappeared to the back without telling me he was going to make it. He just turned around and left. The dessert was good but I didnât really get any âbourbonâ flavor in it. It was a normal banana pudding with some heavily candied pecans. I ended up picking all the pecans out and just eating the rest. I should have just stuck with the OG banana pudding. There were other options of cookies, shakes, puddings, and cobblers and I would like to try something else. I just wasnât impressed with the service (he wasnât rude, just not interactive) and also didnât really care for those hard pecans. Next time Iâll have to try the cobbler.
Also, be aware they do not take...
