School isn't there for it's students, doesn't care about the toxic dog eat dog environment it creates as is starts from the top with a trickle down effect throughout the rest of the organization starting with the deans (Boike runs away from the situation and the other dean/vice dean in an abusive demanor making a nasty ugly face telling you to quit as he reveals to you what he really thinks about education) down to its faculty (students have to succeed inspite of them not because of them and way too many of these "teachers" have serious issues) and counselors who on behalf of the school makes incredibly inappropriate comments about the education and profession that should deeply offend podiatrists just as much as upset parents)... the people at this place should be more than embarrassed, it should be completely ashamed of themselves as all they care about is the money. Families are sending their youth here and once the school has the money, it doesn't care about you. The way this school is run with what goes on here it is shocking as well as deflating and demoralizing as it ruins your outlook on both education and people. Year after year, the people at this school and this profession don't open their eyes as it doesn't take care of students who they are raising one day into being future health professionals that are supposed to care for people's health and well being. This "school" does neither. This sink or swim attitude goes to the extreme as it is beyond unhealthy as it brings out the absolute worst in people (the teachers/doctors even more than the youth/students) as you can't say enough what a toxic enviroment, toxic culture this place is. Lots of bullying and abuse going on and people mistreating each other as it is way too much of a dog eat dog environment of survival where people will do anything to you. Don't let the facade of a beautiful building exterior fool you: There's the face the school puts on and then in reality you see just how ugly people really are towards each other. It's one thing if it's immature kids, but the adults?!? Several of the faculty need to take a long hard look in the mirror. And the dean, a CEO, who avoids/is too afraid (total coward) to speak to an upset parent and a fellow medical professional enjoys being in front of a crowd giving speeches telling people to be there for their patients and do no harm, but there is no leadership, no mentoring, no care. And it goes beyond students and prospective students: whether you are alum or a part of what should be a much better profession, can you imagine, especially in the field of healthcare, with the way people are treating each other where health and care are beside the point, if this is how they treat students what are they like with patients?

As you realize what education and a profession are supposed to be all about, as you find meaning in your own life and career, don't ever forget the effect you have on people. I hope you find yourself in a situation with good peers and good mentors and that you be a good mentor and peer because you have a greater perspective and deeper appreciation for just how...
