If anything is taken from this review, hopefully you can learn from my mistake. With that being said, I have been working in area (24hwy/291) for the last week and noticed a spot with three-four Mexican Restaurants in a 1-2 block area. Noticed Los Compas and as it was on side of road I was driving down decided to give them a try. It was 2:4pm on a Monday afternoon. Was greeted by HILDA who sat me and left menu. No water no chips nothing. There were 3 other tables when I walked in and all had food except one. There was also an additional server (RAMONE) who ended up being my server. After sitting for some time, I was finally greeted by my server. I ordered off the lunch menu (LUNCH FAJITAS-$11.79 with a soft drink included) which he immediately had issue with due to the time. When he finally came to my table it was 3:06 p.m. and of course their lunch specials end at 3:00 p.m. I was in the front door and had a menu in my hand at my table before 3:00, but of course this was a problem. I placed my order and asked for a PEPSI as complimentary soft drink was included with lunch specials. RAMONE came back to the table and said that I could get the Lunch Special Price, but as it was after 3:00 I would have to pay extra for the soft drink which to me was ridiculous as I was seated with menu in hand BEFORE 3:00 so I declined and just asked for water plus I had also ordered a SMALL PEACH MARGARITA which was $7.99 on menu. RAMONE with a puzzled/confused look repeated what i was wanting "SMALL PEACH MARGARITA ON THE ROCKS W/ SALT" (i can only assume his English was not well or he was hard of hearing). After all this finally received Chips and Salsa, followed by the Peach Margarita. He laid down an empty small rocks style glass with salt on the rim, then a plastic pitcher with the Margarita in it. My first words were "This is a SMALL?!" And he giggled. Food was brough out and although I have had better, the fajitas were tasty not much Guac or Pico though. When he brought me the check I was charged the $11.79 for Lunch Fajitas but was shocked to see that I was charged $14.99 for my SMALL PEACH MARGARITA (I haven't ever once paid more for a drink than the cost of the entree itself until today). I filled that small rocks glass twice and the second time didn't drink the entire thing as seen something black floating in glass and there was ZERO taste of peach. (The pitcher was still 65-70% full of remainder of cocktail ). Took my check to cashier HILDA and explained the OBVIOUS mix-up on the Margarita plainly stating just like I did to Ramone I ordered a SMALL PEACH MARGARITA, which should have been 7.99 and she was very snide and rude and flat out told me NO YOU ORDERED A SMALL PITCHER (which i specifically did not order as I am CERTAIN I told RAMONE SMALL PEACH MARGARITA twice and I am NOT a drinker at all). Now if he misunderstood, which I can only assume was the case as there was no taste of peach, and I was charged DOUBLE what I ordered in the first place that should be on HILDA, MANAGEMENT, ROSETTA STONE OR WHOMEVER and not on me. Customer is NOT right at this establishment. HILDA is the perfect example of how you are to NOT treat paying customers especially if you want them to return. If I were you, take your business to one of the other establishments such as El Volcan or Rancheros which is across road from Los Crampos. Really this place deserves ZERO stars. Wished I would have checked ratings beforehand as HILDA and her horrible attitude and non existent customer service skills are mentioned in several other negative reviews dating three...
Read moreWell, I used to frequent this restaurant often. This is the only Mexican restaurant that has fried avocados.😍 I've searched and asked. I bragged about the avocados and how I liked the restaurant to my friend, so we decided to go to celebrate our birthdays. My friend was about 5 minutes late getting there. The waitress came to me 3x asking if my company was coming...... very irritating. I never saw the fried avocados on the appetizer list but they do have them..... why isn't it on the menu so ppl know to order them? Anyway... we ordered our meal, it was good and arrived in a descent amount of time. Why is it when you ask for extra napkins they only give you 2? I asked for extra, more than one but hopefully more than 2!! We asked for to go boxes, I had 2 one for the appetizer and the other for my meal, I had to ask for a container for the sauce, then a bag to carry my 3 containers. My friend asked for more salsa and a to go container to take home the chips and salsa she never got any more salsa she had to use what was left from what we had at dinner which was less than half a bottle. Then when paying the bill they took the extra $20.00 from her card which was supposed to apply to the meal. The $20,00 was taken out as if it was a tip I'm guessing. The service was too poor for such a tip. She never came by to refresh our drinks once. I was embarrassed that I told my friend about the place. I kept apologizing because I've never had such service as I did last night. I noticed different faces in employees.... maybe that's it, I don't know what it was but I will probably not go back...
Read moreWe ordered food through door dash and there was an issue with putting in a note on the meal that was for my friend with a dairy allergy. I called them 3 or 4 minutes after the order was placed to let them know there was an issue with door dash and that we needed that meal to not have any dairy on it. (No, this isn't a lactose intolerance. It's a go to the hospital in anaphylactic shock if there's accidental consumption, kind of situation.) The lady who answered the phone was incredibly rude and told me I needed to put it in special instructions next time (I already told her there was an issue where we couldn't) and then kept reading off each meal and saying it's not her fault if the kitchen already made the food. After about 7 minutes of arguing with me, I asked her to please go let the kitchen know there's an allergy. She came back and said that it was already made. I asked if it had cheese, butter, or sour cream in it. She said yes, it's already made. I asked her as politely as I could in this situation to please remove anything with dairy. She said again that it's not her fault and we need to use the special instructions. I told her that I'm not saying it's her fault, but I would appreciate some compassion because he could literally get poisoned if he has any dairy and I called the second it was noticed. She said she'd get it remade and hung up on me.
Food has always been amazing. Have never had any issues calling about his dairy allergy before. But this has certainly soured what was supposed to be a nice night...
