The black angus certified ribeye was the most tender steak I’ve ever eaten. I literally cut it dragging an average steak knife across the top. It was almost like cutting warm butter. It was excellent flavor!
$3 Happy hour drinks were honest. The wife had two and that was plenty!
The waitress made us feel welcome from the start, Matt the owner came up twice and also made us welcome. He said “We recently bought it and the reputation wasn’t that good and we are fixing it up”. So, if you haven’t been there in awhile it might be time for a second look.
He told us about the certification process for the angus beef he buys. Only the top 15% of the angus beef are certified. They are Kansas and Nebraska sourced, aged longer than normal, and Matt cuts the beef in house. It’s a 14 oz steak. We ordered ours medium-rare and it was just right!
I have been wanting a great steak like that for a long time but don’t want to pay the price. For what you get, the price is not only affordable, but a great value! This steak could be served at a fine dining restaurant for three times the price.
This will be a go to date night spot for us. Very family friendly too, at least at 6:30 PM...
Read moreMy husband and I went there this evening after getting our taxes done for a quick dinner. It was later in the evening a little before 830. The hostess who had been sitting down at another table talking with another worker brought us our menus after we had sat ourselves down. She reaked of ciggarettes, and couldn't tell My husband what kind of beers they had in tap without looking at the beer menu on the table. My husband ordered a mushroom swiss burger and I ordered the Reuben sandwich. The corned beef on my sandwich was incredibly thick and tough, very chewy and super salty. My husband's burger tasted like they had mixed too much salt into the burger and then covered the outside with salt before they cooked it. We couldn't finish either of our sandwiches because they were sooo salty. If you like excessive amounts of salt in your food go here. Our actual waitress was at least good. She was attentive enough without hovering and refilled our drinks quickly. All in all not impressed. Go easy on...
Read moreWe got there for an early dinner and were about the third group there. There was six of us. As mentioned in other reviews, we had International guest with us and we really wanted them to have a great experience in Independence, Kansas. Unlike the experience on Monday evening, Uncle Jacks was so REFRESHING! Uncle Jack's personal service, smiles, patience and the way the owner and staff conversed with individuals, was so welcomed. Uncle Jack's also helped a couple of International guest select the best beverage that they were laughing and enjoying the atmosphere. The orders were spot on! For Appetizers we had Fried Pickles (10+), Jalapeño Poppers (10+) & Chips and salsa (~ok). I had the Chicken Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes & green beans (10+). The chicken was perfect, moist and delicious! Everyone had an enjoyable dinner an totally hope everyone that reads this review has the same excellent experience we had. Thank you; We'll be back to...
