Eat here! FIRST WHATABURGER IN THE KANSAS CITY GREATER METROPOLITAN AREA THAT KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A WHATABURGER!!!!!! I have to ask the man from me if they were any good. He says I'm from Oklahoma and these people are good 👍 . For you who don't know about Whataburger you have to get down to Oklahoma maybe in the Southeast say Alabama Georgia maybe and Texas of course to get a good quality whataburger. They have been sick in the Kansas City metropolitan area and we have ate and every one of them. There's one other that was decent but the man on duty was a manager they shipped in from Texas to turn it around and that was at another location in town. But let's talk about this location they know how to do it!! We ate there close to midnight. They were not exceptionally busy. When Whataburger gets it right which they normally did before the buyout from the family. There shouldn't be a McDonald's burger king Wendy's or any other fast food restaurant within 5 mi! And I'm talking about in the city if it's a little less populated should be anything around for 20 mi. Whataburger is just that fantastic! I did not catch the name of the shift leader who is acting manager but she was in her forties white woman and give her all the encouragement because her crew was making great hamburgers shakes and fries 🍟. I begged Whataburger not to move in to Kansas City metro area because it would turn out like a lot of things. It's only as good as the help and frankly if you can't get the help to work and they don't care then it doesn't matter how good the product that they are cooking with is. When the shake out the seasoning you got to do it right. Maybe they went back to the original meet supplier. We have ate at the other one and Blue springs and they were no good. They were the best of the worst. I go right down the line with each one of them. we have generally waited until after they have been open for a while. If you want to find out what the Whataburger is supposed to taste like go to this location. Be sure to call the corporate office and let them know what you think at any of the whataburgers you eat at. Now the Chiefs quarterback has gone into partnership and they are opening one up on highway 152 up north. Let's see how good they are. This is the one to judge all the rest of them by in the Kansas City metropolitan area. I was told that they will be opening locations in St Louis as well. I am just glad I no longer have to go to Southern Arkansas or Oklahoma or Texas to get a quality Whataburger! This location is the place to...
Read moreWARNING DO NOT GO HERE! THERE ARE SO MANY BURGER PLACES THAT ARE BETTER. I've been to this location multiples times. The drive through wait time is the worst I have ever experienced. I have waited in this drive-thru for over 30 minutes at 10 pm at night. Not once but made the mistake twice. I only waited because I had a hungry kid at home and she wanted this. NEVER doing this drive thru ever again. The reason I'm writing this review now is the management is also the worst I have ever experienced. After another long wait during the day (17 minutes in the drive through) they messed up both sandwiches and forgot to put the fries in the bag. Very frustrating but I was more hungry than anything. I parked and went inside to get my fries. A woman approached apologized and gave them to me. When I got back in the car my daughter told me her sandwich was wrong. They put onions on it. She is allergic to them. The wrapper clearly had the no onion sticker on it and so did the ticket. I went inside to correct the problem. I waited a long time by the registers before I had to flag someone down. I tried to tell them what was going on but this person turned the conversation sideways and started going in on me about how he couldn't touch the package once it went out the door. Very strange / odd turn of the conversation which I literally didn't care about. I told him I was so tired of the problems I experience here. He told me, "why don't you go someplace else?" He made a great point! I set the sand-which on the counter after looking around for a trash can and left. He didn't even ask what was wrong or if it could be fixed. This person claimed to be the manager when I asked. I WILL NEVER BE BACK AGAIN. I called to complain on their main corporate line and was told they would take care of it and I would get a refund. SURPRISE! No refund. No follow up like they stated on the phone (not that I cared at this point) I WAITED AND PAID FOR FOOD I NEVER GOT! PLUS WAS TREATED POORLY...
Read moreAfter waiting in line for at least an half hour, 15 cars deep in 8 degree weather for the supposed holy grail of cheeseburgers I am finally at the pearly gates of the Whataburger drive through window. The staff are busy but with the number of workers on hand they should be slamming orders out the door, or window. My order was simple. One single, one double, one triple, a jalapeño burger, 3 cokes, one diet Dr Pepper, 4 shakes, 3 chocolate, one vanilla. What did I get? Mass confusion on the drinks. In fact they gave me someone elses, I gave them back. Always check your bags.
One of the first thing I do after retrieving my order and after I have checked my bags, I hit the frys while I am driving. I had looked forward to hot fries after waiting a half hour in eight degree weather. .....Nope. I hit the first out of four bags. Cold, second bag cold etc. Not only cold but taste like cardboard. What they did was make a large batch of fries and left them sitting under the heat lamps trying to cut corners. Also a side note I didnt order malts, I ordered shakes. I can't stand malts. But they sent us malts. After fighting to get out of the parking lot. Almost literally, thats another story I get home. The cheeseburgers are sub-par. No where near the hype. Long wait, untrained staff, cold food etc.
I eat out a lot due to a busy life. I don't mind spending money on good food. I don't even mind waiting in eight degree weather. But you have to deliver. The Whataburger in Independence Mo compared to the Tula Oklahoma location are day and night different.
Bottom line. Avoid Whataburger in Independence Mo. Way over priced for what you get. I paid right at $65.00 to feed four people. The only one who made out was my dog. And he...
