This is our favorite place to eat. It was my daughter's birthday yesterday, turned 15! Of course she wanted to come here to celebrate. Normally I would give five stars for everything, but it must have been an extremely off day for the whole restaurant.
It was very busy when we got there, but I do not give that as an excuse. I understand the stresses of being a waitress, I was one for many years.
I could tell that the waitress was having an off day. She did not greet us as she normally does. I could tell she was very stressed out. She even said 'huh' when I was trying to order more crab ragoon. The appetizers were delicious. The meals, not so much. My daughter's pad Thai was extremely greasy and did not taste as a normally does. My son and I ordered seafood Thai fried rice and the seafood was a little tough, probably overcooked.
I asked the waitress for tiger sauce and she brought one for the whole table of four! When I asked her for more she seemed irritated that I asked, but she brought two more.
She took some of the dirty dishes off of the table, but left most of them. I told her it was my daughter's birthday when she asked if we would like dessert, and she was almost reluctant to offer the complimentary one scoop of ice cream.
Upon getting the bill, which was over $100 after I put the tip on there, I noticed she charged me $1 extra for the tiger sauce! I'm not sure the need of charging me extra for that when it was a table of four.
I normally tip very well, but yesterday was supposed to be a special day for my daughter and the service was not as it usually is. I left for 15% still, but things definitely should have been a little bit more special for my young lady.
We will still return, but hopefully with the normal waitress that we have instead of who had yesterday. Looking forward to the food to not be greasy and to not be charged a dollar extra for the...
Read moreI fell in love with Thai while living on the west coast. Since moving back to my hometown, I haven't found a place that quite met the standard of hole in the wall, family owned Thai deliciousness...until this place.
I came here on a quiet Saturday evening after the holidays. The staff was super friendly and seated me right away. I ordered my favorite; Thai iced tea, Crab Rangoon, and chicken Yellow curry.
The Thai iced tea came in a stemmed glass and had the perfect mix of condensed milk and Thai tea. It's difficult to find a place that balances this drink right so you can still taste the Thai tea. This one was perfect!
The crab Rangoon was beautifully plated, light, and crispy, with not too much wanton and just the right amount of filling. Before I knew it, I'd demolished half of it.
The curry was better than any I've had. Served in a bowel with a scoop of white rice on the side. It was the right amount of spice (I chose mild from their menu) and the chicken and vegetables were cooked perfectly.
The waitstaff was friendly and checked on me throughout my meal. It was a wonderful experience. I would highly...
Read moreLet me start by saying I love the food at Thai Kitchen, but the service and ethics provided tonight will cause me to not return. We ordered food for our family of 4 and were told the total would be $51.05, reflected by our merchant copy. We used a prepaid card and wanted to see how much we had remaining to tip. When we looked at the card, we noted that 20% had already been taken out for gratuity at time of payment without our knowledge and our original receipt handed to us had the original amount. When we called to address this, we were not acknowledged, told that we were wrong, and that this was incorrect. As stated to the server on the phone, we don't mind tipping but we want to be told that a 20% tip has already been charged and not have them attempt to swindle us. Had we not been monitoring this, we would have ended up giving a 40% tip without our knowledge or consent. We let them keep their tip, but after their poor acceptance and acknowledgement, we will not be returning. Keep a watch out on your wallets...
