First time trying this place for boba and it was bad, like really bad 😔.
I love trying new tea/boba places around Melbourne as there are not many to choose from. This is not a good one, sadly, out of the many I’ve been too.
The place itself is cute and I love the atmosphere but the actual thing it’s named after: tea, is awful.
I got a matcha milk tea with boba and it was god awful. The matcha was bitter which only cheap matcha is. Also the boba itself was as hard as a rock and I don’t think they even put tea in the drink. Unless they are using a powered tea which some boba places use along with powered milk, which this place does use, then I was mistaken. If you are into powders then this is the place for you but I am not. I like freshly brewed teas and real milk. It enriches the flavors of the tea and this tea was not it.
Now the boba, was just hard. The flavor of it was good. Strong brown sugar flavor but the texture was all wrong. In fact, the whole drink had a weird texture to me. Very grainy (probably the powders).
Overall, bad place for boba tea. They do other things though like ice cream and they can always improve there boba since they are still new, but I hope they do or they will be quickly out of the boba business.
For great boba in Melbourne check out Rain-Bo Island on MLK. They know what the essence of tea...
Read moreWhen I got back from school in Boston, I was desperately trying to find new places to get bubble tea, but after trying several local places out, it's safe to say that we have a winner!
My mom and I go here about once a week, and the drinks are always fantastic. The service is always fantastic, regardless of who is behind the counter, friendly, and very good sports about recreating recipes from their past drinks of the week (which are constantly rotating in and out with combinations and has given me several favorites that I'd never have tried otherwise.) The selection of products available is part of what sets this place apart -- as someone who doesn't like tea products as a whole but loves bubble tea drinks, I really appreciate the wide variety of energy spritzers and milk teas, but people who like green tea, black tea, or coffee also won't be disappointed (my mom always takes a Manny's coffee from here.)
Likewise, the ice cream is delicious -- I HIGHLY recommend the blue ice or rainbow sorbet. The price is roughly on par with what you would spend in a Starbucks.
Overall, I've been to bubble tea locations in four countries and eight cities at this point and, of all them, this place is probably my favorite one. It's an absolutely delightful local gem. If you're in the area and love bubble tea,...
Read moreI've been going here almost since it opened and I've consistently had a great experience! Summer is awesome, always so friendly and helpful. There's something for everyone here - my husband and I love the boba teas and milkshakes, my daughter loves the ice cream.
Whatever ice cream they have is good quality. It tastes like the actual flavors, not a chemical copy. They also have non-dairy options, which is what I usually get, and it tastes AMAZING.
Acai bowls are super good as well.
I love that this is a local place and while I used to get my drinks from national coffee/fast food chains, I have almost totally switched over to Urban Tea. It's just that good.
Other reviews have noted the cost of the drinks, I would say that the drinks are worth every penny - and because they're so awesome they also have a...
