My wife and I stumbled upon this restaurant 3 years ago and let me tell you, it is the greatest Mexican restaurant we have ever been to. On our first visit, my wife ordered the shrimp tostada and as she began to eat it she exclaimed, "I have been to Mexico, and this is the best Mexican food I've ever had!" I have to agree. The food here is always fresh and no matter what day or time we have been there, it is always just as good as the first time. My go-to here is the quesadilla loca, which consists of chicken (pollo), steak (asada), and chorizo (sausage). I have attempted to order this at other Mexican restaurants and none have been able to match El Corcel #2. My drink of choice here is the sangria margarita on the rocks. This sangria is not a pre-mix and the taste reflects that. With bits of fresh cut apples and a fresh lime, it is the most perfect margarita I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. Our bill has never been more than $50 and we always leave feeling that it was worth every penny. If you love Mexican cuisine, and haven't been here yet, WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE?!?!? Make your way to El Corcel #2 as soon as you can and you will see; it IS possible to find authentic Mexican food in Indy. So good in fact, that it tastes better than Mexican food...
Read moreIt's never a good start when the server has an attitude before you're even seated... I know it's hard for many people to keep their personal problems from affecting their job performance, but if there is an industry that this CAN NOT happen is the restaurant business. Thus place was previously recommended by a friend, luckily that friend was there with me and witnessed the terrible experience. Our food was very slow to arrive, it was mixed up when it did, and the server never came back to refill drinks... alcoholic beverages I may add. You figure they want us to consume as many of those as possible 🤔 I ordered fried fish and it did look really good, until I took the first and only bite.... in my opinion the straw wrapper had more flavor than that food. The cleanness aspect was not up to my standards either, making this a strike 3 and I'm out scenario 😑 I was tempted to give it a one star rating, but maybe this was a bad day for all employees that occasion... unfortunately I would likely never know, since my chances of going back...
Read moreBest salsa I've ever had! Some of the best Mexican food, too. I stopped visiting because prices weren't consistent. Going back again was my mistake. The staff is childish. You can never tell whether you're their long lost friend or if servers are going to forget you're there. I ordered carry out this evening and they played games. First, a waitress interrupted me while I was explaining my order to someone else. She insisted on (not) serving me. She hid in the kitchen, came out, avoided eye contact and stood there sipping her soda. Forty minutes and a trip home to find my order # and my receipt later, I asked for my money back. Whaddya know? My food! In twenty seconds! ... Without the second salsa I ordered. (did I tip? No. a) it's carry out. b) The pandemic is over. c) Last time I ordered carry out my food was just sitting there, cold, and Not One Person Said Hello). You want a tip? Earn it. Be consistent with your policies, your prices, and your service. Love the food. Done...
