Updated review
We revisited kissaten today, and I am sorry to say that I can no longer recommend this place. With steadily increasing prices, and rapidly decreasing quality, I feel many of the dishes are now just not worth the price that is being charged.
I got the fried rice and my partner once again got the tonkotsu ramen. While the fried rice was good (not great), the ramen was atrocious.
The ramen had spaghetti noodles instead of ramen noodles and the broth was not made to his spicy specifications. While the latter could be rectified, the fomer couldn't.
This place was once a hidden gem, but is now on my 'do not go back' list after repeated disappointment

Kissaten greatly exceeded all my expectations, and I will absolutely be returning. The place is small, and didn't seem to be getting much attention, which I hope changes!
The food was delicious. I enjoyed the shoyu ramen, with an appetizer of the gyoza chicken. The chicken was perfectly cooked, with a crispy outside and tender inside. If you've never had gyoza chicken, I highly reccomend trying it from here!
The shoyu ramen was delicious. I got the mild, which I will warn you is very mild. If you are spicy-phobic like me, I would reccomend getting it between the medium and the mild, as I asked them if they could, they did, and it was fantastic! The pork was tender and falling apart, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and overall the entire dish was great.
The service was fast and friendly. I don't think we even waited 15 minutes for our food!
Prices are reasonable, but the atmosphere is a little stale. I think I heard the same song about 3 times in the hour I was there. This is a minor complaint, and should not stop you from visiting if you like ramen!
Overall, this is a fantastic restaurant, and I will be coming back. If you are looking for a local place in greenwood that has some good ramen, go!
They're menu is also varied, and while I haven't sampled everything, if they are half as good as the ramen, it's...
Read moreWouldn’t recommend it. Poor service and the food wasn’t that good. Very surprised by just how many 5 star reviews there are.
Took a while to get our food and when we finally got our order we got an entree we didn’t even order instead of what we asked for (ended up being the Kung Pao chicken). We explained this to the waiter saying that we ordered pho (a Vietnamese soup) and he tried to argue with us saying what was in front of us was pho (even though it was not even a soup)! He finally went back and asked someone else and we thought it was sorted out. He then said the pho order was put in and asked if we wanted to keep the Kung Pao chicken and we asked if it would be free and our waiter said of course so we kept the dish and put it in a to go box. We finally got the pho and it was pretty good (the soup had good flavoring) but we also had the sweet fire chicken and it was very bland.
Service issues began again when we got the bill, they had the audacity to charge us for the Kung Pao chicken even after the waiter explicitly saying they wouldn’t. When we asked our waiter what was going on he defended charging us for it. He said since we were taking it with us, we had to pay for it, never mind him saying the exact opposite earlier. I explained how we were going to refuse to pay for it especially since we didn’t order it in the first place and he lied to us earlier. They ended up changing the bill but not without us refusing to pay.
Terribly unprofessional, incompetent and...
Read moreWe stopped at Kissaten a few days ago for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. We found a clean and simply decorated restaurant with a mixture of tables and booths that were both attractive and functional. Kissaten is an Asian restaurant that is a fusion type as several Asian countries are represented on the menu. We were greeted by a courteous young woman who turned out to be our very efficient server. We looked over the menu which covers both lunch and dinner items. There are a lot of options on the menu, so the three of us ordered three different meals, General Tso's Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice and Chicken Pho. They came with a spring roll and mushroom tom yum soup. The meals were very attractive when they came to our table and hot. The soup was steaming. Every plate was full of food. All was favorable with some spice flavors. The soup was very good, and spring rolls were gone quickly. There was a large serving on each plate, and we needed to ask for takeout containers as we were full after eating about half the servings. We were not hurried at all and were there about 1 1/2 hours. We were impressed with the food and the restaurant and will go back with...
