I'm only giving 1 stars because the in store service was nice and pleasant. Aside from that, it was horrible. I ordered sausage and chicken gumbo. I've been here multiple times and never had an issue. Today however, I get home and I see 2, TWO, QUARTER PIECES of sausage. Not 2 whole pieces. It was a while piece, cut into 4 and I happened to get 2 of those pieces in my gumbo. NO CHICKEN, NONE! I called and explained myself, I was told that the chicken and sausage was just finely shredded!!!! I've shredded chicken a thousand times, I can still visibly see the chicken. AND THE SAUSAGE???? WHO IN THE HELL HAD EVER SHREDDED SAUSAGE???? ESPECIALLY FOR GUMBO???? Everyone knows you get sliced/diced sausage in gumbo!!!! Not SHREDDED sausage. Anyways, the gentleman I spoke to tells me its just shredded. I tell him I see no remnants of sausage or chicken but he reassures me he sees it in his pot at work and then proceeds to tell me, I don't know what to tell you man'. Not sure when that phrase became professional and courteous. Will never go to this location again. If you do go here, stay away from the gumbo. Check your food...
Read moreFriendly, fast service, unique atmosphere and flavors and generous portions. I had the red beans & rice. They were tasty and well prepared, but living so close to Cajun country for years has spoiled me, so I can't say it's the best I've tasted (I actually prefer my own recipe using a lot of "Slap Ya Mama" seasoning). I haven't seen any other Cajun restaurants nearby, so if you have a craving for Cajun this is a good option. This is mostly a take-out restaurant (many people came in for take-out while we were dining in); only three other people dined in while we were there for dinner on a Thursday evening. My husband had the chili cheese Étouffée and he thought the taste was interesting, but he didn't think it tasted like Cajun. Flavors are definitely different from the Louisiana flavors we are familiar with. This is a very popular...
Read moreWhat a major disappointment. We hadn't been to a YATS since prior to the pandemic, and the food, atmosphere and service did not meet our expectations. The person at the cash register seemed rather disinterested in giving his feedback on a favorite meal of his. He sounded monotoned, and very unenthusiastic. The Chili Cheese Etouffee with Crawfish meal was very bland, and had little to no salt or any seasoning at all. The Drunken Chicken tasted very peppery, and that's it. The White Chicken was very bland as well. The cushions by a few tables were very worn down and had holes in them, and the walls had holes in them too. It's as if management doesn't care to maintain a good appearance of their restaurant. Truthfully we expected more from YAT'S, and sad to say that we would not recommend this YAT'S location for...
