Indy’s best kept secret 🤫 You can't have a good meal when you eat out. Too often, restaurants are full of people who are rowdy, obnoxious, and not clean. Home cooking is the best! Even cooking by my mom or my grandma or by my female friends makes me happy. But, you can't eat that kind of food every day, right? 🤔 Simply Southern is one of the best and most elegant restaurants in the city. It has great Southern food, great service, and an elegant atmosphere. .👌 We need to keep our health in good shape. simply southern soulfood restaurant and catering is dedicated to making delicious, high-quality, southern-style food that is made with care and served with great service. It's food that's good for you and an experience you won't soon forget, 💪🏽 Southern soul foods make their food fresh every day, so you get home-cooked soul food in every bite. Chicken, pork chops, salmon croquettes, cat, perch, and whiting fish are some of the fried items. The deserts are assorted cakes, peach cobblers, and Pepsi products. 💥💥💥💥💥 Make a good recommendation. People also ask Why do they call it soul food? The expression "soul food" originated in the mid-1960s, when "soul" was a common word used to describe African-American culture. . Where did Southern food come from? Soul food takes its origins mostly from Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama, a collection of states commonly referred to as the Deep South. Verrry Dissatisfied with my meal. I purchased a 1 porkchop dinner with supposed to be fried corn and mac and cheese with hot water cornbread. Pork chop was pink in the inside (undercooked) and white (cooked more) on the outside. Mac and cheese was bland and not cheesy, fried corn was boiled corn with no season. Hot water cornbread was greasy. I called and spoke with Nisha to file my complaint and she stated that she cooked the pork chops and fried them and placed them in the oven. It was close to closing time. She then Stated that pork chops are sometimes pink and as long as it’s not bleeding it is done. She then stated that i may be a person that want my food cooked longer .. No i am a person that wants my porkchop well done. I am feeling sick to my stomach and have a headache. This place is a health hazard and should be reported. They don’t want to take responsibility for undercooked food. BEWARE do not eat here!! I will never spend another dime at this black owned business. Mind you that they have a sign that states no REFUNDS

Ordered pick up because I was craving some good bbq chicken and I wanted to support a local business. I ordered the 2 pc. Bbq chicken plate with collard greens and dressing. The collard greens were decent but everything else was not good. Not pictured was a turkey leg with rice, a side of mashed potatoes, and mac n cheese. The turkey leg had no flavor and the rice was swimming in gravy. The mashed potatoes tasted like water. There was a sign as soon as you walk in that says no refunds unless something is missing. Sadly, all this food went into the trash. I will not be eating here again.

The food is good but the owner does not deal with customer complaints well at all. I have been going to the place for a few yrs and havent had any issue. This yr at the new location I have had 2 separate issue neither were small. The first issue was maybe 3months ago when I noticed an upcharge for my sides items. Now mind you I ordered a dinner that came with 2sides. When I asked the cashier who was an slim build elderly woman what the charge was for she couldn't explain it. She went and get the owner who was a medium build light skin elder woman. She said certain dishes cost more to make. I asked customers are not informed before the choose their food? She said because that's how she been doing so that's what she does. I took this as being very rude and disrespectful. I didnt mind paying the money I was spending over 60 bucks on 3 meals anyway. It was the principal just because you have been doing something a certain way for years does not make it right. Customers should know upfront what they are paying for in any establishment. This is unfair business practice! The second issue was I went into the restaurant on Mother's Day and ordered a meal I have been getting for years and anyone who knows this place knows they are known for this meal. The infamous Turkey wing and rice with 2 sides!!!! This was the first time I was disappointed my Turkey wing was so undercooked I couldn't eat it. Luckily they cooked ham on this Sunday and I happen to get some or I wouldn't have had anything meat to eat with my meal. I went back today and told them what happened and was told I should have called and told them Sunday even tho the guy who made my food remembered clearly serving me last week. The owner son told me there was nothing he could do since I didn't call in. Customer service is a big part of food service and this place is great as long as u don't complain about anything because they don't seem to care less if you have been a part of the growth of the business or it's your first time coming losing your business isn't a big concern...

Sherry (said owner) could use a brush up on professionalism & costumer service. After waiting in a breakfast line that consisted of 3 ppl for approximately 15 mins while being ignored, I finally asked who did I need to see to place an order. Sherry then rudely & dismissively turned Around and stated “I can take your order when when I’m done, as if I the customer was a bother to her. Even the other 3 customers (who were all together might I add) had looks on their faces like “wtf”! I was never loud, rude or inpatient! Her tone was as if she was annoyed & she didn’t respect me as a customer enough to even make eye contact when addressing me in an EMPTY restaurant! I politely left. Afterwards I called the restaurant (30 mins later) and asked what was the name of the woman taking orders & I was told her name was Sherry (the actual person who answered the phone). I explained to Sherry that I wanted to file a complaint with the owner & she stated it was her. Wow! I then explained that I felt her tone was rude and the overall situation was unprofessional. She proceeded to tell me that maybe I was having a bad day (it was like 8:30am btw). Then went on to say she wasn’t about to argue with me as if me expressing my disappointment in a normal tone warrranted that comment! Then Sherry proceeded to hang up on me after overtaking me for about 2-3mins. I never called back nor would I ever spend another dime in that place! Someone should tell Sherry that without customers she would have no business! I try to support all black business etc but some make it hard! Word of mouth is the best advertisement! I never write reviews on anything but this really rubbed me wrong! We have...
