Taqueria La Chela — Restaurant in Indianapolis

Definitely would not recommend trying Taqueria La Chela on E 38th and College. Called to order carne asada and veggies. No rice, no beans, no tortillas. After the guy on the phone ask--- they tell me no. But, I can get a MEAL with carne asada, grilled chicken, zucchini, Tomatoes, onions and peppers. Comes w rice, beans, and tortillas but on the side. Also, sour cream, lettuce and pico. $17 Perfect! Nope!!!!! Get home. I have some steak, onions, rice and beans. I called to be told....well I read it and rang it up wrong. I said, okay....well I didn't get what you said would be in the order. He said, oh. Sorry ma'am. Hung up.

.....and I'm pretty sure I paid EXTRA for the 2 items I didn't want to begin with....

This food was terrible. I wish I had read more reviews before I ordered. I could have saved myself thirty five dollars. I had a chimichanga that was the worst I've ever had. The outside was not well done. The inside had only over cooked , under seasoned chicken in it. There were no grilled onions or peppers in it. The rice was bland and over cooked. The refried beans were hard as rocks and greasy. The cheese dip tasted like something i could have purchased at Walmart. My daughter had the enchiladas. Equally terrible. Please do your research before you try this place. It seems like the reviews from a year ago were really good. So maybe it's new management. I will definitely not...

The staff was very friendly and the food came quick. I got a Mexican Burrito at more than double the price of most burritos I've had (nearly $17), higher price gave me high hopes. I don't like to badmouth food, everyone has their tastes, but I've had WonderBread with more flavor, same complaint from my colleague who got a chicken dish.
