Congratulations to you all, beautiful store & beautiful artwork by Mr. Mike as well.
I just really wish that they hadn't taken Dollar General away & that this was made into A grocery store, or something in that nature instead.
Especially for people who have to walk & use public transportation especially with the new ridiculous routes with less bus frequency & further bus stops in-between from grocery stores.
I don't have anything negative to say about your business.
You all have A beautiful & wonderful business we just needed to keep/redo the Dollar General that we had, or either get some type Grocery store, A foodmart, A neighborhood Walmart, A Dollar Tree, or something in that nature instead. A Walgreens/CVS even would've dic it.
Now, we just have Family Dollar & no other options, unless we travel further.
I & A lot of other people have to travel further for A Dollar General in which one has A way smaller parking lot & never has anything in stock & the other one doesn't really have anything in stock, because so many people have to go to that one now.
So as soon as they're stocking, people are buying everything as the associates are stocking in leaving the shelves bare.
This store the used to be Dollar General prior would have everything in stock majority of the time.
I & A lot of others would shop at this store that used to be Dollar General way more often than Family Dollar.
I like Family Dollar, Yet Dollar General was better in A lot of ways.
I could see this Toy store making it, not saying that they're not making it, they're doing great. If this Toy store ever wanted to go somewhere else & they think about making this into A small grocery store, I can see this Toy store in A high traffic area like the Castleton area, or maybe even inside of the malls.
That would be nice. Whatever happens I wish you all, the best & A prosperous outcome.
The three stars are literally only, because they didn't make this into A grocery store, or something in that nature that's literally...
Read moreThe Toy Pit moved location not too long ago. I visited the new store today for the first time with my family; my CHILDREN have been to this store with other adults prior to today many times and our family has supported this local business with our money for YEARS. However, after today, I will refuse to support this business with another dime. Sadly, and painfully.
This business does not have a restroom. Today, when I inquired on where I could use a restroom with my daughter, I was told I could “walk across the street to Family Dollar”. After crossing 4 lanes of traffic with BROKEN pedestrian crosswalk signals, I was catcalled by no less than 3 people with masks on motorcycles. THEN, after the workers at Family Dollar advised there was not a restroom available, I was unable to cross back over the busy 4 lane street due to 100+ bikers blowing through the crosswalk and stoplight. Apparently, I was just too happy walking across the street to find a bathroom!!!!! My husband picked me up on the corner. Police cars intercepted only one individual on a motorcycle.
Juice isn’t worth the squeeze with this “toy store”. If you can’t safeguard bare minimum SAFETY TO FEMALE PATRONS of your business, due to crime in the area, OR inability to provide a safe place to pee… GOOD LUCK.
5/28/25 Edited to add: My husband called The Toy Pit and asked to speak to the owner, by name yesterday afternoon. The “manager” stated the owner was unavailable, but could help. My husband advised him of the above situation, and that given The Toy Pit’s pricing and target audience being CHILDREN AND FAMILIES, they should be able to provide a bathroom (at least for emergencies) to their patrons. The “manager” focused on my husband being “argumentative about their prices”, and declined to hear...
Read moreThe Toy Pit was an interesting experience for sure. We came in with a tote of some pop figures and other odds and ends we were unsure they would take or not. To my surprise they had tons of items that not even I would have thought to bring. Things like built Gundams, Legos, and even some harder to find items like a wearable megaman helmet were on display. The staff was friendly and attentive, while not immediately clear on how the process would go when we walked in, we were told to put the tote by the counter and we were free to shop around while things got priced out. At first I thought, “ well how are they going to know who brought what?” As someone in front of me also brought a tote full of stuff. But to my surprise we were found later on in the store by Mark who explained the situation, asked if we had a ballpark amount in mind, and to look around and see if we wanted to pick something up while we were there. We did not come with a price in mind but the process of getting stuff priced out was pretty fair. It wasn’t an experience like gamestop where it felt like the $60 game you paid for only gets you 12 cents. It felt more like a haggling system where we showed Mark what we were interested in (store credit wise) and he offered how much he could credit us for and what the remainder would be. It was off the cuff but his values were justified and explained, for example we didn’t get a lot for our Funko Pops as some were not that special or hard to find, so they would drudge up common prices. On the topic of pricing as well, id say it was pretty decent as we picked up a Neca Elvira that a quick glance at ebay was priced $15-$20 more than what they had in store. I’ll be back...
