Went for breakfast ordered cinnamon pecan roll, meat breakfast burrito and veggie burrito. Pecan roll was fabulous! Better than grandmas! Lots of pecans not too sweet. Both burritos had good flavor. Eggs cooked perfectly. Not hard. Delicious gravy with meat burrito. Perfectly seasoned. Coffee is unremarkable. Seating at high tables is precarious. Had to move to short table for fear of collapsing the high table. Service unremarkable.

Mother & daughter team home made everything! A delicious light & fluffy herb and cheese quiche thin crusts made from their scratch biscuits 🤤 hubby had cheesy eggs and bacon, cooked perfectly. We couldn’t resist the fresh made pumpkin muffin and gobbled it away before our breakfast arrived, thus no picture. Excellent coffee with free refills. Reasonable priced total for both was less than $20.

I have been wanting to stop in here and I wasn’t disappointed. Nice atmosphere. Basic coffee and good hometown breakfast and lunch options. I didn’t get the pastries, but they look amazing. A great small shop that adds to the downtown Indianola atmosphere.

Previously this has been one of our favorite places in town. Lately I have been hearing horror stories from friends about customer service here, but was reluctant to believe it, since it hadn't been my experience... until today. :( One of our drinks did not come out before the meal, did not come out with the meal, and we were told both times that it was on its way. After our leisurely meal, probably 45 min since we placed the order originally, we asked for our drink again, and were told they were sorry, but they were really busy. !?Really !? In 45 min they could make our food, but not a drink? So I asked for a refund on the drink, and was told no, they were making it right now. Hmmm. :( We still waited 5-10 min for the drink. Not happy. And not compensated by them in any way for our trouble and their bad service. Besides the drink snafu: there was a hair on my plate when my food was delivered, and the orzo salad side dish I ordered was drenched in dressing to the point 1/3 of my bowl was just liquid dressing. And as we left I saw 6-8 tables inside and out that had not been bussed. Unfortunately, it seems like their customer service has taken a turn for the worse. My experience plus the others I have been hearing about, will keep me from recommending this restaurant to others...

My wife and I had lunch here on Thursday. A welcome addition to Indianola, Mish Mash offers a gentile alternative to the fast (junk) food joints on Jefferson and the standard bar fare found elsewhere around town. The atmosphere is bright, clean and welcoming. The restroom also clean. The staff was friendly and service good. The menu was varied, and a sizable wine and beer selection would be welcoming after sunset in the Mish Mash outdoor dining area (probably not so much in winter). Prices were reasonable. Three drawbacks; two minor one major:

  1. The seats are unpadded and don't encourage lingering, but, then, no coffee refills were offered, so, perhaps, that's not an issue.
  2. I only found two vegetarian items on the menu: the quiche and the potato/cheese soup. Both excellent.
  3. This is the biggest drawback. PLASTIC forks, spoons and knives! No quicker way to degrade a good meal than eating it with cheap plastic picnicware. The only thing worse would be to use styrofoam plates. I'll bring my own silverware next time we dine here.

Overall, a good place , and with a few tweaks, it'll be great. (Please, lose the...

This place has unfortunately just gone downhill. It used to be a cute little place to go to for brunch. Now it’s just forgotten about most of the time. The hours are very very limited and the employees aren’t friendly when we go. I think they’d benefit from finding one thing that really sets them apart from similar businesses in the area and promoting it!! Their FB presence might be a little confusing to outsiders. Do they do mostly frozen meals? Dips? Cakes? It’s all over the place. How about promoting the back patio seating area? How about doing events? Just some ideas!

I wish they’d do a little redecorating or something—the atmosphere is kind of dull. I know they only have one big window at the front, but there’s ways to work with that.

The food is delicious! Their biscuits are heavenly. Monkey bread is...
