We came to town just to run an errand & decided to stop somewhere for lunch. We did not want to go someplace that was accessible in Des Moines, so we chose Winnâs steak and pizza.
We were greeted by the most friendly, chipper waitress. She let us know we could sit where ever we wanted, and explained that she had to get just one order out and that she would be with us in a moment.
She handed us the menu and gave us some time to look it over, she suggested the eggrolls and crab rangoons. Which taste freshly HOME MADE. The eggrolls were well seasoned and perfectly stuffed, the crab rangoons where also very well seasoned, with actual chunks of crab meat in them, which was surprising. (Most Asian establishments in Des Moines donât fill their rangoons get much nor do they even put crab in them.)
As the waitress checked on us to take our order, we ordered one steak ribeye and one marinated steak filet. Both were cooked and seasoned to perfection.
The waitress was very attentive, sweet and very accommodating.
This was a very great experience and will definitely be coming back.
Also really quick - they have great music playing. Food was a little above average in price but for the quality and the hospitality, it was...

The staff are friendly and perceptive showing their care for the business through the shining smiles they wear on their faces.
I had the Greek Gyro w/fries and the following is my experience with it.
I found the lamb in the Greek Gyro to be juicy and flavorful with just the right amount of saltiness even keeled with crisp yet creamy Tzatziki sauce. The Pita was thick but not overbearing, and the vegetables all tasted freshly prepared and clean. The fries were crispy and hot seasoned perfectly to my taste.
Will definitely add this restaurant to my recommend eating establishments and will continue to eat...
Read moreWe stopped at Winn's based on a recommendation of a friend. They said it is their go to spot in Indianola. The visit did not disappoint. There was a wide variety of American food on the menu. I believe it was Jamie that took care of our group of 6 and she did a fantastic job. Three of our group decided to have Gyros and fries, one had a chef salad & baked potato, another had a tenderloin & fries, and I went with the special that day, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, and texas toast. No complaints from anyone in our group, the food and service ice were very good. A neighboring table had a pizza that looked fabulous as well. We definitely will make another stop to...
