Oishi Sushi Ramen& Poke — Restaurant in Ingleside

After driving by and seeing g a new owner at a local Asian restruant who had fallen into difficult times I convinced my husband to give it a chance. So glad we did. The food was fresh and exceptional, the waitress was very knowledgeable about the dishes and unabashedly honest on her recommendations rather than giving the typical, everything is good reply. The poke table looked fresh and amazing. I truly hope they handle the long haul. It's a new favorite.

Since I cannot find how to post an update review I hope this edited addition to this amazing restruant suffices. 04/18/2024. Over the past month since my original review, I have enjoyed numerous delicious meals at this outstanding establishment. Today's server was Tracy, a delightful young lady with a wonderful telephone etiquette. An individual who can handle phone in orders with poise and patience is a rare thing. The appetizers crispy shrimp balls, and shrimp shumai were simply amazing. My miso soup likewise. Their miso soup is somehow infused with a robust flavor I thoroughly enjoy. My main course was the shrimp upon and again exceptionally well cooked and I am so thrilled to have such a wonderful Asian themed restruant in such close proximity. Well worth the drive and sincerely hope Oishi stays with us...

Please please stop here, it is hands down the best ramen and sushi around! Me and my fiancée go at least once a week and we’re always greeted with a smile, the food always comes out delicious and they have so many great options whether you want to try something new or you want some really good regular Asian cuisine! The ramen is always great , they have some of the best seasoned eggs, I always have to add one or two extra for my ramen, and don’t even get me started on their lo mein, it’s next level and the best I’ve ever had! I personally recommend the wonton ramen or the Korean seafood ramen, both have very generous portions! My fiancée is a big fan of the sushi, it’s all fresh and you can taste the care and love in every roll! I hope that they get the business that they deserve and I hope you see this review and stop and try this hidden gem, I promise you that you won’t be disappointed in the slightest ! The place is beautiful, interior is nice and the Boba was delicious. Appetizers were alright. Sadly, that is where the praise stops. To start, the ramen was mid. Broth lacked a savory flavor, bland and not pleasing. Chicken in the ramen was low quality and the softboiled egg was between softboiled and hardboiled. For a place with Ramen in the name, I expected better. The chicken Katsu looked ok and tasted better than the Ramen. should be called Oishi Chicken. I also would hope our waiter would allow us to eat in peace next time. If my plate is still full and I'm eating, I'm not finished. I was very excited to try the Tempura Cake dessert on the menu. But our waiter asked us multipule times in the middle of the meal if we were done so we went ahead and payed and left like he kept pushing us to. Better luck next time.
