Twisted Apes Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Ingleside

A really great bar and grill. We've been looking for a burger place locally and we found one. This place has a friendly staff, welcoming owner, very reasonable prices on drinks and excellent food. It has 6 pool tables, a fooseball table, video games and a loud jukebox. You can still have a conversation but it is a bar after all. The food was really good. I had the fat boy burger for dinner and the next day lunch. Whole cooked med-well to well done, thet kept it juicy with great grill flavor. The wedge fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. My wife had the street glide burger with Canadian bacon and pineapple plus. She would ask for an extra slice of pineapple as those bites were the best. She also had sweet potatoes fries and enough fir lunch the next day. We started off with their onion rings. Nice thick slices of onions and hand battered. The only issue was these were a little greasy but still tasty. Great selection of drinks and beers (even had a cider.) We were definitely billed for more drinks than we consumed. I wouldn’t be making this review right now if I had two beers before going in and seven more while in there. I wouldn’t have walked out let alone walked out without slurring my words or being able to type and post this right now. It wasn’t busy. The toilet broke. It was a clean enough bathroom that I removed the lid of the toilet and reattached the handle. When I told the server, she acknowledged the problem. She didn’t say thank you or do anything above. When I served, I would have comped the customer a beer for that. Nope. I really think we were charged extra beers for the 2.5 hours we were there. Again, I could not drink 7 beers in that time and feel only slightly buzzed. The staff was friendly enough. The food is decent for a bar. But watch your tab. more bar than grill but enjoyed it. Update-Response Y'all are a bar AND grill. I truly meant no disrespect or slight to your establishment. Your setup is definitely more bar than grill as I said initially. If you want an equal feel of bar and grill though perhaps some some dining tables or something along those lines close to the entrance rather than through the bar/game area and then outside. I TRULY ENJOYED MY VISIT don't get me wrong but also remember many individuals especially with kids aren't going to ask or hunt for the grill diner part. At first glance from your doorway it appeared to be all bar which is ok for lots of us but not to a lot of traveling families. I personally have nothing to gain or lose from sharing my opinion here. again I enjoyed it but if I'd have had my youngest grandkids with me I wouldn't have made it past the doorway.
