The one thing about carribean food that be irritating me is when everything looks and tastes the same or super similar, NOT HERE! I ordered 4 dinners, oxtails, brown stew chicken, jerk chicken & all white meat jerk chicken. Every dinner has its own identity & flavor profile. Out of the 4 dinners, it was hard to choose a favorite between the oxtails and brown stew chicken but I would have to say, brown stew chicken was so mfn fire! With the rice & peas! That brown stew chicken is no joke & that's saying a lot in comparison to oxtails! The oxtails were cooked to perfection, a generous portion & very little fat! I've had plenty of Jamaican food & made my own brown stew chicken so I'm not just having a cultural food awakening or something, Country Style was excellent! The staff was a little curt with their conversation they didn't brush me off but didn't invite much small talk but it wasn't rude, they were obviously very busy so keep that in mind before complaining about anyone's "attitude". As far as the jerk dinners, I ordered that for my husband and his friend & they both said it was fire! My husband doesn't like dark meat and they have an all white meat option. I could see immediately that the white meat was moist. Usually breast is dried out, especially jerk chicken, NOT HERE! Here, the white meat is moist and juicy and I was really surprised because it's hard to keep breast from drying out. It was too spicy for me but I can't even eat hot cheetos so don't trust my judgment on what's too hot or not, like I said my husband & his friend said it was bomb!!! A lot of Carribean food isn't really photogenic, it doesn't "look" like it tastes if that makes sense. It always this dark sauce that throws people off. Overall... Brown Stew Chicken: 10/10 Oxtail Dinner: 10/10 Jerk Chicken: 9/10
Customer Service: friendly but busy Environment: best suited for to-go orders.

Read moreThis place is special for many reasons, small unassuming and amazing food. First, I have to say that ox tails are not available anywhere in Central California where I live. I am here in Inglewood, California, and looking for interesting food options. I discovered this authentic Jamaican restaurant using Google maps . I was happy to discover ox tails and many other home cooked dishes. I say home cooked because that's how good it is. Ox tails incredible beefy rich fatty fall of the bone impressive. Jerk chicken fire a busrt of intense flavor spicy good, curry goat also rivals the ox tails for incredible flavor so moist and delicious. Sides also great cabbage very tasty, plantains good and everything served with classic rice and beans so good. Dessert sweet potato pudding looks like pie very satisfying also got red velvet cake, yummy and to drink I tried pineapple ginger drink again blown away by the flavor. All this amazing food was new to me, and I'm sad to say that I won't get to enjoy these flavors until I return to this area. So if you live anywhere near Inglewood you need to go and get this grub. No seating this is grab and go just makes it more special. All food in my pictures cost 65 $ total ...
Read moreI owned a restaurant in the US Virgin Islands it’s hard for me to eat out because I am very tough critic when it comes to cooking West Indian foods. The presentation, customer service and one for me the taste of the food. The red peas rice was dry and grain was hard. The chicken didn’t have enough seasoning by the time I pour the jerk sauce on top that too just had bite of fire but again the taste wasn’t there it fall flat. My mouth wasn’t watering for more. Second the customer service was so so. The cashier couldn’t tell me if the food taste good when I ask to the point she looked annoyed that I asked. Yes I ask because things like this disappoints me. When I cook it’s with love, from my conch in butter sauce, pea soup, my curry chicken, oxtail, saltfish and Ducana, goat water, whelks, fish soup, bake Mac and cheese, sweet potato stuffing, my beef, saltfish Pattie’s and Johnny Cakes much more believe me when I say my customers can feel and taste the love from the order taker to the cook. Yes I am a damn good cook. Tourist and locals alike come back over and over because I offered a full package. I did not get the half the package today. I don’t recommend this Jamaica...
