LA BREA THAI CUISINE & CAFE — Restaurant in Inglewood

I’ve lived locally since I was a kid and had never tried this spot and it is open late.

The prices are extremely high for the quality of food. We ordered a Tom Yum soup, a Shrimp Pineapple Fried Rice, and Green Beans with beef and the total was $54.

(For comparison another customer walked in for a pick. They ordered two broccoli beef and one Thai Ice tea and it was $45).

We waited in the sitting area for our food and heard them using a microwave. I’ve worked in food service many years and there is absolutely no reason why a kitchen should have a microwave. Additionally, for the prices the food should be made fresh with each order.

It was clear when we ate our food that the fried rice and the soup were not fresh. We dumped the soup because it tasted old. The friend rice was very mushy and therefore did not taste like fried rice or just made.

I only gave this place two stars because the green bean & beef dish (Pra King) was actually pretty good and very likely the only thing they cooked fresh.

Take the advice in these reviews and don’t waste your money. They got one star because I couldn’t put zero. Absolutely the worst Thai food I have ever had. Just in Là for a night and wanted some Thai food and pho. Why did they even have pho on the menu? It sucked. They didn’t have pork we ordered via Uber Eats and rather than let us know they delivered the food without the pork and a note on the receipt. They should have refunded us for the pho. I never write a review, but this one I have to so people don’t waste money on it. If could I would not give them 1 star. Their food is so bad. I don’t even know how they still keep this business running still. We here on vacation and it was the last minute decision. The boat soup has only 3 small meat balls and no beef. I ordered stir noodles but got fry rice instead with no meat. The papaya salad was so hot but no flavor. The spice chicken Wings was so dry and very sweet.
