Charley Cat Chicken — Restaurant in Inver Grove Heights

I really wanted to be in love with this place. Charley Cat Chicken, I hope you aren’t too biased and learn a little to improve your kitchen.

1. Your coleslaw tastes great! It is so refreshing, but the tiny little quantity you serve (2.5 may 3 Tablespoons) is disappointing. As coleslaw is one of the cheapest things to make, you should at least serve 1/2 cup.
2. Your Garlic Toast has great Flavor! However only toasting your bread on one side really takes the enjoyment away. That and you could toast for a little shorter of a time for the 1/2 thickness you are using.
3. I liked your fried chicken, but I noticed that it was a bit too cooked to almost being burnt, and kind of bland. My sandwich was made with a chicken strip exactly like my son’s chicken strip meal. It was disappointing the lack of enthusiasm that went into making what could’ve been a really great sandwich.
4. We ordered veggie fries. The concept of them is great! Maybe invest in an Air Fryer as I had to fry these the proper way to avoid so much grease from vegetables that appeared to have been pan seared in oil?

Overall, service was quick. I think I paid too much for what we received. Unless things change, I probably won’t be investing our money to eat with Charley Cat Chicken. It felt as though Charley Cat was trying, but they just haven’t the experience yet to make it the place I think it could be. Good Luck to the restaurant, may they listen to what...

Wow! Seriously the best Nashville Hot I’ve ever had!!! Service was fantastic when we went in before our movie at AMC.

I just ordered for myself, Nashville hot, fries, and Mac and cheese. We were greeted with a warm welcome and friendly smile I didn’t catch her name but she said we’d be back really soon and she wasn’t lying.

The sandwich was amazing it was crispy but just melts in your mouth. Perfect level of heat (I did get the extra sauce) leaves just a little spice aftertaste and the coleslaw and pickles compliment it perfectly. Mac and cheese was solid too, and the fries were amazing got a heaping portion.

My wife demanded a bite and immediately after the decision was made. She was ordering some after our film. She did. She said it was the best she ever had. And did I forget to mention she’s southern and has had her fair share of Nashville hots.

Also forgot to mention the affordability. Very reasonably priced. Amazing portion sizes. And once again extremely friendly staff from the hostess to the chef remembering my wife from earlier lol.

I'm a spicy chicken sando guy. I've been around, I've tried them. Texture, look, and cook was on point. Everything wasn't enough though. The pickles weren't pickly enough, the slaw want slawy enough, the chicken wasn't spicy enough, and as a whole not salty enough. I even got the ghost pepper one and asked for extra spicy, extra sauce, and utensils and napkins. Got none of those things.

Also ordered wings, regular Nashville hot. Was pretty mild, not enough flavor. Just going to take the rest home and put my own sauce on them. Cooked well, though.

Also, order was sitting there getting cold while I was supposed to get a text when it was ready. There are only so many parts to a takeout order to mess up, and they managed to make it an overall very disappointing experience. But so far I haven't gotten sick or anything, so I...
