On a Midwest scale I would say slightly below average but on a local scale within Iowa City itself probably considered pretty good by most. The food portions we're slightly smaller then I would have hoped. Overall I would say the price does reflect the quality of the food. Menu items pictured in the post that we tried include the gyro, and the sample platter which consisted of hummus, falafel, pita, and roasted chicken with veggies. See attached pictures and video. The staff was super friendly and super helpful. Our weight was much longer than I would have hoped. Almost 30 minutes. Come to find out our order was given to a different table so the server brought out a punch card for a free meal next time we stop in. It's a very small establishment but overall good environment. The restrooms were as clean as you would expect and parking is a little bit difficult to come by but there's a lot of side roads to park on.

Great place for Mediterranean cuisines in Iowa City. We had a grill platter which came with two grill items (chosen from four different options) and a falafel sandwich. We took beef kafta for both of our grill items and french fries along with baba ganoush as sides. They gave us a free falafel with that. The taste of beef kafta was really good specially with the green chilli paste. Falafels were very crispy outside and soft inside with great flavor. I think one of the best Falafels I have ever had. The baba ganoush was little tangy and bitter in taste with a very smoky flavour. In combination the flavour was very delicious and super addictive. We liked all the food very much.

This is a small restaurant in downtown Iowa city. Parking might be a bit hard to find. Coming to the food: 1. The falafel was excellent- crunchy, soft and perfect taste. The hummus complimented it very well. The Baba Ganoush (5/5) was smoky and creamy. I would definitely order it. The fires were amazing too. I’m not a big fan of Baklava but it was very very good here. The size and taste of Turkish coffee was a tad bit of a disappointment. But overall a great place. The staff were very friendly and polite. The seating indoor was limited but there was lot of seating outdoor.

I never do these, but felt compelled to write one tonight.

The food is outstanding. 5/5 stars. This was my first time going to oasis and it couldn't have been better from a food standpoint. The issue I had was with the lady working, 6pm on Jan. 13. I ordered online, and arrived after the time it said my food would be ready. No one said anything to me when I walked in, so naturally I walked over to the pick up counter to check the receipt on the to go order that was sitting there to see if it was mine. I leaned in to read the tag, and all of a sudden I hear someone shout "PLEASE DON'T DO THAT". She sprinted from the kitchen all the way over to where I was to get between me and the food. She then, in an extremely condescending tone, said "YOU tell US your name, and WE check the receipt". I said ok fine and gave her my name. She then said "this is DEFINITELY not your order". I said okay that's fine I was just checking... and before I could finish my sentence she interrupted me to tell me food has been stolen in the past. I do understand this, I just believe she could have handled this in a way that did not cause a scene in front of the other 10 customers that were present. I would just expect to be treated with a little bit of respect when I go somewhere, a calm "hey sorry but due to issues in the past, we don't allow customers to check the receipt themselves. can i have your name?" It was just an overall snooty vibe, didn't...

The vegetables were fresh and the food was ok-ish. It's my own fault for not reading their description of what they think a Gyro is. What they served me was not a Gyro, the vegetables were almost there, along with meat thats it. No tzatziki sauce, instead they use humus and added falafel. The sandwich was also built in an odd way. The meat and vegetables were split between the sandwich so for the first half I ate nothing but saturated pita and cucumbers after that it was all very dry meat and two falafel at the very back. I've had doner kebobs while traveling and grew up around a small Greek community in Florida. This sandwich was neither a doner or a Gyro. It was pretty disappointing for how much it was hyped up to me. Either way, not very good I probably will not return. I dont agree with doing obviously very little research on what you should be naming your food. If I order a Gyro I don't expect I should have to read too much into what I'm buying. Staff seemed nice enough I hope they get better as...

One of our top local small businesses in Iowa City! As always, food, staff and owners are great! Please stay strong during this difficult time! We love you guys very much! To all the other patrons, I as another business owner, encourage you to concentrate your reviews on food, quality and service! As local small businesses continue to hurt financially and work through many challenges please be kind and follow each ones policies and guidelines. Each business owner has had the responsibility of protecting their own business, including their staff, and their customers. It is very sad and devastating to see these small businesses not survive. Limited hours are hard for convenience but better than none! If their staff wears a mask for you behind their window, then please respect their request and honor it by just wearing one too! Every deserving small business needs your full support and positive thoughts, not your negative comments and reviews about having to wear a mask or having...
