College green park is a block of park close to downtown and frequented by university students. I'm rating parks based on their kid appeal and this is not a favorite. It's close to a busy street, the swings are too high off the ground, and the play equipment is just ok. The play structure is accessible to a variety of ages. I would say 18 months+ with supervision for most of it. This park works if you're already downtown and your kid loves to climb steps or you live in the area, but on street parking is an issue for the rest of us making this park a difficult destination. If, however, you have kids that love monkey bars this park may be worth the trip.

I always liked this part, it's been a popular place for local events, like cookouts, and events where people set up stalls here and sell things. I don't actually know who organizes the events, just that I come by here and they're happening pretty often.
It's on the side of a pretty steep hill, and there are stairs at one corner, but it's pretty wheelchair accessable. There's not much exciting about it as a park: It's got playground equipment, an open space, a gazebo, a basketball court, the usual. The trees are very nice in fall, and some of the bushes bloom.
The location is very good, right near a parking lot.
My one complaint, is it's pretty,...
Read moreLovely little historic park in the middle of a quaint neighborhood not far from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Very nice playground as well as a lovely gazebo! There are several park style grills in the park as well! This park is very safe during the day and is very well lit at night so not a huge safety concern if you visit at night! During the day you will see a mixture of college students, families, and older individuals all enjoying this...
