Teamo Tea — Restaurant in Iowa City

This is me and my gf’s go to spot for a boba drink. We have been there for over 10 times and they were all great experiences. The employees are extremely efficient and attentive, they had my drink ready in less than a minute no kidding! The owner is also very friendly and attentive. They recently added a 10 second challenge where you can get a free drink if you hit the ‘10:00:00’ mark on the stopwatch, it’s always fun to participate and try your luck. They also have a great loyalty program, you get a free drink every 10 that you order and during happy hours, you get a ‘buy one get one half off’ discount as well. The bathroom is also clean and tidy. I have had been to other boba place dt, but none can compete with teamo, they are the best of the best! Will definitely recommend getting a drink or two if you are in town. One suggestion for the store tho is to implement accessible features like automatic door opening. I come to Teamo Tea every so often, hoping for some improvement, but it’s always the same letdown. In the middle of summer, the AC isn’t working, and the best solution offered is a bucket of ice in front of a fan. It’s uncomfortably hot, humid, and feels like no one in charge actually cares about creating a decent customer experience.

The drink menu never changes. Ever. No seasonal options, no creativity, and—most frustratingly—no sugar-free drinks at all. If there were just a couple low-sugar or sugar-free options, I’d honestly be here a lot more often. But instead, it feels like the place is stuck in time.

We have ordered a few drinks from them the past few days and everything has been great every time. Customer service was excellent and they were very friendly toward our active and happy 4 year old daughter. This is a great small business for Iowa city area and you can see they are pretty busy but very informative with their timing and wait times. You cannot compare this to other ones in bigger cities as each place is different based on the location and availability of products such as fresh fruits and amount of usage. It makes us upset to see people complain about simple things such bathroom usage or reusable cups specially during Covid and write them bad reviews.
