Cute and nostalgic pizza restaurant, mostly for locals but it is a hidden gem for tourists.
Our local friend brought us here to try these timeless pizzas. Although it looks like nothing special from the outside, once you step in, you quickly realize how busy it is. The inside feels a bit like a maze, so it might be tricky to find your way around. We chose our table ourselves since no one guided us at that point. Probably due to the crowd, the service wasn’t very fast, but once the pizzas arrived, it more than made up for the wait.
You choose your pizza ingredients step by step, allowing you to create almost any combination you want. The pizzas aren’t in the traditional Italian style, but they’re generously topped with ingredients. Be careful not to burn your mouth, as the pizzas arrive very hot. Typically, one pizza is enough for one person, so if you’re not too hungry, you might want to consider sharing.
We mostly ordered cheese pizzas with two additional ingredients (mushroom, pepperoni, and meatballs), and everything was spot on. Each topping did its job perfectly, adding great flavor to the pizza. I’ll definitely be back if I visit...
Read moreAs a very picky, pizza-loving customer in my opinion the pizza at Riverview Restaurant in Ipswich, MA is perfect tasting if you're looking for a homemade tasting pizza! Every time! All toppings are cut up, not too big and not too little. The cheese was melted perfectly, and the crust is even good enough to eat if you're not a crust eating person. LOL.
This Restaurant is in an old building consisting of old school tables and booths. The dim lighting sets the fancy mood at first impression but nostalgic comes to mind first and foremost. When I first walked in the front entrance I was greeted by a couple of young kids folding boxes right at the entrance! Loved that! The restaurant is small but can fit a lot of people. All the space is cleverly utilized. I also noticed as I was waiting for my to-go order at the full service bar that this is a place for the locals to happily enjoy too. There is limited parking on-site in the back of the building that offers a back entrance.
Online orders are taken and cash or card...

The only food to get is the multiple variations of pizza. The pizza is delicious, thin, crunchy, not hardened though, not too much sauce, a good amount of cheese, which is a mixture I'm assuming is mainly mozzarella, with a nice cheese stretch.
The establishment itself gives off a comforting vintage vibe, with a red glow throughout the restaurant and vintage style decor and seating.
It's a covert busy place on weekends, so if you plan on eating there during these times, be sure to grab some beers and drinks to talk and pass the time.
It is worth the wait. Order extra pizza, it's amazing pizza the day after as...
