Hunan Wok — Restaurant in Irmo

For this area, this is by far the best authentic American-Chinese food I've tasted! The place itself is very tiny, so it's not ideal for groups or eating in, but it's perfect for takeout. There is literally only about 2 or 3 small table to sit and eat at. So a large groups of people would find themselves standing up, if eating in.

The people working here were very friendly and had smiles on their faces while taking my order.

It did take a little while to get my food, about 15 minutes or so, which is weird because for as small as this place was, I thought it was fast food type deal, no! It's seems like it's an very authentic restaurant confined to a small place... But that's really the only bad thing I can think of... The food.... Wow! It was VERY tasty, and it may have taken a while but it was freaking GOOD! I ordered sweet and sour pork, fried rice, and white rice, and the stuff was awesome!

I've had soooo much bad Asian food here in Irmo, and this place was just a blessing! If you're into takout and good Asian food, I HIGHLY recommend this place. Oh, the food portions were huge, more than what I could eat alone, and I can eat a bit... 5 freaking stars!

The food is very good. I cannot take anything away from that but the service is horrible. Very rude. I understand their knowledge of English is not that much but you don’t have to snatch thank you and please are just common courtesy words. I’ve went there before and we gotten the same thing twice no issue but when I went to go get it the third time, I felt like it was a little bit of bad business going on. She immediately said $15 when I knew the meal was Not that Amount so when I proceeded to grab the menu, she immediately said oh you must want a smaller portion it said Which is the lunch special, which it was at the time so why not present with the lunch special like the other two times when it was convenient, however it was a different person who rung me up but still Why would you offer me a full dinner price when you have lunch specials going for the same food that I asked for that’s on the dinner menu that makes no sense. And like I said, she definitely had an attitude because she snatched my money now I wasn’t going to show out and say never mind because I had already paid for my food however, I don’t see myself visiting this establishment again based upon that great food does not be...

First of all I called in to make sure they sold almond chicken because it's one of my favorite dishes and I've been eating it my whole life. Almond chicken is breaded crispy chicken thats cut up into slices and has almond gravy poured on top. Whatever I got was far from that. It was a bunch of weird vegetables with a couple of pieces of chicken mixed in and some almonds thrown on top. My husband got orange chicken. I refuse to eat mine because I wanted almond chicken and that's not what it was so I ate a little bit of my husband's orange chicken and it tasted horrible. It tasted like it was rotten or something. So I told him to take it back. We first called to let them know that we wanted to return the food. We said we would keep the rice but wanted to return the so-called almond chicken and the orange chicken. when we got there to return it they wanted to argue with us about it. Time went by and later on tonight I am sick with food poisoning just from eating a few pieces of the orange chicken that we returned. The rice that was nasty. It tasted gross and old.
