It was a night much like any other in our lives as seasonal workers up the road—our group of four friends was on the hunt for an elevated dining experience, specifically one centered around good wine and good company. Oddfellows in Iron Mountain quickly became the obvious choice. Having heard whispers of its unique offerings, I went in expecting a decent evening with some passable fare and tasty wine. However, what we experienced far surpassed those expectations. From the moment we stepped inside, Oddfellows set a tone that was both welcoming and sophisticated. The ambiance struck a perfect balance between a laid-back, intimate setting and a space that felt just refined enough to make the night feel special. The décor, with its warm lighting and thoughtfully curated artwork, provided a lovely backdrop for what turned out to be a memorable evening. The highlight of our night, unsurprisingly, was the wine. We decided on a wine flight featuring two reds and two whites, each with its own distinct character and profile. The staff at Oddfellows clearly know their stuff, as the selections were spot-on and each wine complemented the next perfectly. What really set this experience apart was how well the wine paired with our "family style" dining approach. As each of us took turns ordering dishes to share with the table, the combinations unfolded like a well-orchestrated symphony of flavors. From the start, the food was a revelation. The cheese curds were crispy and gooey, embodying everything you'd want in a comforting appetizer, while more adventurous offerings elevated the experience to new heights. The main courses were executed with such finesse that they left us marveling. I loved the Whitefish Entree and am excited to return to try the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. And then, the pièce de résistance: the most beautifully crafted carrot cake I've ever sampled. It wasn't just dessert; it was an experience—rich yet balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness and spice. Each bite seemed to melt in our mouths, leaving us speechless. Service at Oddfellows was exceptional. Our server, a young man whose enthusiasm and genuine warmth added so much to the evening, was knowledgeable, attentive, and effortlessly charming. His recommendations were spot-on, and his easy-going nature made him feel like a welcome addition to our table. It was clear that he, like everyone else we encountered at Oddfellows, took pride in creating a memorable experience for every guest. We laughed, we toasted, and we soaked in the atmosphere—each moment more enjoyable than the last. The restaurant was immaculately clean, and you could tell that every detail was well thought out, from the seating arrangements to the music playing softly in the background. Oddfellows is more than just a place to eat; it’s a place to connect, to enjoy, and to indulge. If you’re anywhere near Iron Mountain and have a love for great food, superb wine, and a setting that feels both special and welcoming, I can’t recommend Oddfellows enough. It’s a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it gets and more. A visit there will leave you with a night to remember and a...
Read moreThis was our first time to Oddfellows. We went yesterday, Thursday, Nov 9, made a 6:00 reservation. We are not from the area but my parents live in Norway and my father grew up here so I have a large family in the area. We were surprised when we walked in on how crowded it was for a Thursday and even though we were early seated right away. Our server came over right away and we ordered wine and two appetizers. We liked the building the noise level was not too bad and there was a lone singer playing for some time. My wife had the fig and Brie and I had the burrata. We both agreed the buratta was delicious with the the balsamic sauce. The wine was ok although we did not order the best or most expensive. Main course wife had the seafood chowder and I had the Nashville hot chicken. The soup was tasty and had nice pieces of whitefish. The chicken comes with two sauces. One mild and one hot, I used the hot and it had a kick to it and was great, I would order again. The chicken also comes with two large pieces of bread that I removed and just ate the chicken. We did not order dessert because we had enough. My only complaint would be our server sometimes would not get back for some time, but noticed she did have many tables. I read some past reviews that it took 2 hours to get food and it was not hot. Not in our case, it was a enjoyable experience and I...

On a different note: I hope all that enter realize the time and effort and doubt that goes into such a massive undertaking in an area such as ours. I hope you’re taken back by the power people hold in their dreams and aspirations, and I hope your comments reflect as much. There is nothing greater than watching your hard work come to life.
