Blue Dillo — Restaurant in Iron Mountain

I stopped in for lunch on Friday (6/6/25) a bit after 12pm. Dining area was pretty full going in with a couple ahead of me at the counter. I was able to place my order pretty quick and found a nice spot along the wall/window. As I waited watching the staff running around and working together to get orders out and stock the kitchen the young lady took the time to ask if I wanted water even though I did not order anything to drink. I kindly accepted her offer and enjoyed the cool refreshing glass of ice cold H2O. When my order arrived at the table it did not disappoint! You really get a picture perfect burger that looks like what you order and tastes even better! It was so fresh and juicy in-between a corn dusted bun that compliments it so well! Then the fries, you can tell they are fresh cut because they taste exactly like my father's homemade ones.

The price is unmatched for a fresh burger, same price or better then any fast food and oh so much better. Even got to witness some shaved ice drinks being made for a family of 5 as I was finishing up my...

I think there’s a lot of potential for this restaurant, but I believe there are still a few bugs that need to be worked out to reach their true potential.

The good: The atmosphere was great, the place was clean, workers were super respectful and nice, food was made to order with a line out the door which is always a great sign!

The bad: our food was truthfully subpar, our eggs were very watery and runny, the gravy for biscuits and gravy was luke-warm at best, and the pancakes we received were uncooked, dense and very doughy. The staff seemed unorganized and flustered at a Saturday morning rush, which I understand having worked in the restaurant industry, but doesn’t change overall experience for a customer.

Amazing food right out the gate, delectable tender grilled chicken the burrito, deliciously seasoned steak in the tacos, crisp nachos and tangy salsa. Onion rings were crispy and sweet, while the loaded fries with homemade chilli made an wonderfully fitting appetizer.
