Visited Saturday, Februray 3rd around 1pm. The the young woman behind the counter should not be working with the public. She had a bad attitude regarding everything. We first asked what was in the pizza pasty, as it was the only one with no ingredients listed. She replied "does it matter?" After a pause she added "its saturday." Yes, it was saturday, her point was... im not sure because the pizza pasty is listed as being available everyday. We then asked "is there pepperoni in it?" She replied "its just meat." Then she told us "i dont know, they dont tell us what is in them."
If this establishment truely doesnt educate the staff on the ingredients, or at least have them available for the staff to look at in case someone has dietary concerns, then this is an owner issue. If the employee just cant be bothered to answer a couple very basic questions without an attitude, she should find a job not dealing with the public. After ordering our pasties we asked for a pickle. The girl fished around the pickle jar for at least a minute poking many pickles with the tongs as she said "No. No. No." She seemed to be looking for a specific pickle! In the end she choose one of the smallest and worst looking of the pickles for us.
All that said, the pasties were delicious, huge, and baked to perfection. Got a fresh classic pasty and a frozen veggie pasty. The veggie pasty was to die for. The pickle was a bit soft but still very good.
We would maybe go back and research our selections...
Read moreI've uploaded a picture of one of Pasty Corner's pasties, on a styrofoam plate in the back room of work, with KFC gravy spooned over it as G-d intended, and I'm sure you agree.
I love this place. I prefer hot water crust for pasties, and they do it right. They make them well, they make them fast, they make them the same every day. They're never dry, and a good size.
I've never had bad service here. Food is a difficult job, especially in a small shop when it's busy, but everyone there has always been very professional and patient. Even with someone like me.
I make it a point to stop here whenever I have to regrettably be in Iron River. My favorite little...
Read moreFlavor is delicious, crust is flakey, and they have rutabagas! Absolutely FAVORITE pasties in the UP, but very disappointed with our visit today. My mom and I drove up here from southern Wisconsin to find out they only had one fresh pasty left for the day at 4:30 PM, when they're open until 6 PM. The cashier working offered us frozen pasties, however the place we're staying lacks an oven. The cashier didn't offer an apology and we left heartbroken! I have been waiting to stop here since spring, since I usually pass through on sundays when they're already closed. Such...
