Aloha 21 Hawaiian BBQ — Restaurant in Irvine

I work in same plaza and i usually go here because it’s so convenient, last time i got beef and I end up not even eating it, I was like ok maybe it’s just me because I’m not a big fan of beef, I went today and got ribs, the meat is not fresh, I eat mostly fresh homemade food, I know the difference between something that was just made or something that is old and it’s been sitting there, not cool, they have a sign inside that if the food leave the place you can’t return it, i guess you have to open your food and test it there to make sure is fresh? Is that what people are supposed to do? Came to work and tried to eat it and was very disappointed, even their macaroni pasta same thing, I had this dish here before but today definitely something went wrong, last time and this time had to dump it in the trash, never going back, if your like me and don’t like eating old food that is been sitting there god knows for how long than watch out, check and test your food cuz the fault is not theirs and their sign protects them from complaining, never in a million years i thought i need to test the food before i leave, crazy! I gave 3 stars because the girl at the cashier is very nice otherwise no more...

Place was really stingy about giving any utensils, napkins, etc. We had a large party that mostly consisted of 4 small children so we bought a few large platters for them to share and eat at their outdoor tables. The business was only willing to give us ONE extra plate for them to use even though we ordered multiple platters. When asked for extra napkins, they also only gave us one and refused to budge.

I would definitely recommend against ordering from here. How much do a few extra styrofoam plates add to your overhead? Definitely not as much as a 1-star review and loss of...

Solid Hawaiian BBQ joint. Chicken, beef, pork, and katsu on the menu. The combo plate gives you a taste of everything and weighs like 5 pounds… perfectly cooked cabbage and macaroni salad. I got the chicken katsu which was appropriately thin and crispy with our being dry. Good curry sauce and it has potatoes!! Will definitely eat here again and work my way thru the menu.
