I wanted to love my strawberry Bavarian cream cronut--I ate half with a smile & then was absolutely mortified when my knife pulled thru (yes I was savoring every little bite with knife & fork) a dead silverfish. Now, I am feeling very sick to my stomach. I tried contacting the shop & got no answer. I am throwing this one & the rest of my purchases out now. I wanted to add pictures, but not finding the option here to add them, cut/paste didn'twork to add. So gross.

I often visit Mag's donuts to try out different donuts they make. It is must try for someone having a sweet tooth. Although the name doesn't say it, their coffee is pretty decent as well. Some of the items here are too sweet. For example one of the famous item which I see many people purchasing is Bear Claw. It is nice but just too sweet. Overall very nice place especially for someone craving for sugar.

Definitely would order from here again! I love pastries and Mag’s is awesome. For starters the strawberry cronut is delicious, the cream filled donuts are just right, and my absolute favors, apple fritters and bear claws we amazing. The size of the apple fritters are much bigger than the smaller ones I’ve gotten in the past.

By the looks of the interior design of this donut shop you would think that the donuts are delicious, but honestly in my experience one of the worst donuts I’ve ever had. I got a powdered donut with cream filling and it was disgusting, the cream was spoiled and the donut was stale. Not only that, the owner lied to my mother about the meat in the ham and cheese croissant being “turkey” knowing that my mom cannot eat pork due to her religion. The owner was extremely greedy and simply just wanted my mom to buy the croissant even though my mom insisted many times. She convinced my mom many times until I stepped in, and briefly told her “NO!” Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend anyone this...

I have been trying different donut stores around OC since I moved here in 2006 and I have to say I think Mags is the best all around. There are fancier donuts, and much worse donuts, but for the best general donut store Mags wins! The staff is friendly and quick, they have a great selection, and they are always making fresh donuts. Pro-Tip, go see what is on the cooling racks (just to the left of the case) and get a warm donut if possible, they are always better. To final points: their blueberry donuts actually have real blueberries in them and are amazing, and their apple fritters, if you can get them when they are warm, are out...

I grew up with a shop like this in my hometown. When I moved around from state to state I could never find a donut shop that matched what I grew up with. There is just something off about the larger donut chains. I dropped into Mag's yesterday and believe that after 18 years of searching for "that donut spot," I have found it. I ordered a mixed dozen for just under $14 and the dozen didn't last very long. I am excited for my next excuse to get another...
