MJ's Cafe Irvine — Restaurant in Irvine

Three star review today. One star for reasonable prices, one for surviving the shutdowns, and one for convenience/friendly staff. I would have given a 4th for overall decent food, but their chicken noodle soup's noodles were as mushy as the carrots - and overall, much too salty. No real dimension to the flavor. After the microwave killed my "lean cuisine" lunch (which the manufacturer didn't seal properly), I thought MJ's would be an improvement. I'll never order their chicken noodle soup again. The tomato soup and chili are good enough to eat, as are all the other menu offerings I've tried. The choc chip cookies are surprisingly good and the baked potato is worth a try. Otherwise, I eat here for convenience and the price point. Really disappointing soup...

Best chilly beans soup ever! I was referred to this place by the hotel front desk clerk, and boy, was I glad! I had a BLTA sandwich as well. The food was amazing! Fast and friendly serivce, fair price ($6-$7 w/ tax) for a tasty breakfast.

Place has a nice atmosphere inside and out, and a pretty big menu too.
