Ricebunn Onigiri — Restaurant in Irvine

Sadly, food was not that good. I felt like I got ripped off honestly.

I ordered the trio Onigiri late at night through phone order pick up and chose salmon, beef and shrimp. I had chose the shrimp because it said it has raisins.

I got my order went home and to my surprise, all the proteins are laying on top of the onigiri and NOT inside! I had specifically said I dont want that on the phone order. Not only that, the shrimp had no raisins and I saw no salmon? I saw what looked and tasted like canned tuna but with some special flavor sauce mixed in it? Is that supposed to be to be the salmon? Because i dont think so… The only thing that tasted good was the kbbq beef. Whats even worse is I even tipped them for a pickup order and received such a bad experience. The food was definitely overpriced. I dont know how 3 onigiris and a side corn cost me $18.

Dont think i will ever be coming here again. I feel bad writing this review because i love supporting places that open until 3am and make good food but this was either a bad mistake or...

This review is solely for the gentlemen behind the counter. Not sure if he’s a main worker, or owner but he definitely cares about customer service. Ordered some food for my family, and told me about 10-15 mins. We ordered some Sea Salt Edamame and a spicy tuna plate, vegan plate and some corn.

My wife mentioned she wanted the spicy corn but since our daughter can’t eat spicy she goes, ah, well next time. I go to the counter to pick up the food and the gentlemen says oh I’ll bring it over to you.

Few mins later he throws in a spicy corn on the side just so we could try it, says that he over heard us and wanted to.

Just these few little details caused us to come back so many times in the past month because it was just the little things that other places lack.

Came here during my 30-minute lunch break and placed my order just 3 minutes in. I waited 27 minutes for seven rice balls—and never even received them. While waiting, I went next door to Krip for coffee (they were busy too) and still managed to get my drink quickly. I came back to check on my food, only to find two orders still ahead of mine with just one minute left on my break.

It should never take nearly half an hour to make a simple order like that. I had to request a refund and leave empty-handed. Now I have to work a 9-hour shift with no food. Completely...
