i would give less than 1 star if i could. i stopped eating here years ago because the food quality had declined so much (rice always overcooked, same flavors to all of the meats, etc), but have been hearing a lot of people at my company say its better now that there is new management so i decided to try it again. i should have known better. we placed our order at around 11:45a and were told it would be here in around 45m (so at 12:30p or so). we called at 12:45p to see how far out the driver was so we could meet him outside since we work at a large call center and were told that he left with our order at 12:20p, when asked to repeat himself John (the Skillman employee) changed it to "he left a few minutes ago, he'll be there soon" instead of putting a time on it again. we headed outside to wait but no one called the contact number they had for us or arrived between 12:45p-1:20p. we came back inside to call and find out where the driver was. we were immediately told again that he was on his way and would be here soon without John even finding out which order we were calling about, when we provided the time we had already been waiting John then told us that the driver got here at around 12:30p and gave our food to someone else who was outside when he arrived and said that "she would figure out who we were and give our order to us for him". At no point did John or the driver attempt to contact us (which would have been simple since the phone was with us and we were literally standing outside by the delivery area waiting on the driver) and for some reason the driver agreed to hand our order to someone that he knew didn't place the order. John had zero apologies or empathy for the issue, and since someone at our company had our food he did not want to do anything to fix the issue. he honestly couldnt understand why we were upset and kept telling us to "go find Kiara, she has your food". when we kept telling him there was no way to locate her since there are so many people in different departments here (over 1,000 employees in our building), he had nothing to say other than it was not their fault and that he "just worked there". he refused to help with the matter until we told him at 1:50p that we would we would come up there to take care of it in person with a manager since he couldnt have cared less about the ordeal, at which point he offered to refund the money to the card or remake the order and have THE SAME DRIVER bring it to us... he provided us with the phone number for his manager, who did not answer when we attempted to call. yet another absolutely awful experience with...
Read moreSo I was back in the Irving area and the first thing I had to order was Skillman Wok. I was so excited when it got here I forgot to take pictures. I ordered enough to last several days. My food arrived quickly and was very hot and a lot of it. If you ever go hungry with just even one of their dishes I applause you because they give enough food to share. I got both the wonton and hot and sour soup, the combo plate with my two dishes of General Tsos chicken and lo mein noodles and steamed rice, combination sweet and sour (my usuals), and I tried a new dish for me which was the San Sien Fragrance (where has that been all my life). Everything was so AMAZING as always and everyone from the person who took my order to my delivery driver was Awesome and just as friendly as ever. My order was correct which I never had a problem with. I really miss them and my only suggestion would be to open one in Mesquite TX. I've recommended this place to so many people in Irving and I would turn so many people on to Skillman Wok in Mesquite in a heartbeat. I'd of course be ordering delivery or pickup more than I probably should. I don't think this place would have a problem having a location there. Thanks for the best food and service ever and I miss y'all and next time I'm in Irving I'll be ordering again... Heck I've been thinking about ordering some to take back...
Read moreThis was my first time ordering from Skillman Wok and I would not recommend this place to anyone that loves chinese food. I ordered the China Town Special and honestly, it wasn't what I was expecting. It comes with beef, chicken, shrimp, crab meat, and scallops. I chose to get fried rice with it also came with an egg roll. I would not call this fried rice. All they did was take some white rice and they fried it with a little bit of soy sauce. It tasted very bland. The egg roll tasted like it was sitting there for hours. It was cold and didn't taste good at all. I got 2 small pieces of beef and 3 small pieces of chicken and the rest of the meal was stir fry veggies. The shrimp was the only seafood in the meal that actually tasted good. Other than that, I would give this chinese place 2 thumbs down. It is not worth the money and I will never order from this place again. I wouldn't even give this place one star. It just tasted...
